As a previous review has stated, I also can’t recommend this sitter under a good conscience. My dog was scheduled to be boarded for 12 days and I needed someone to go get my dog on the 5th day of her stay. There were multiple texts where the sitter mentioned my dog whining and barking all night long. My dog is fully crate trained and can stay in the crate throughout the night with little to no whining, let alone barking/howling. My dog got accused of breaking blinds and a camera when we found out that she was left in a room uncrated (when we asked for her to be crated if she was to leave the house) and with at least one dog who she said was an alpha dog. It also came about in the conversation that my dog and the alpha dog had exchanged growls prior to being left alone in this bedroom uncrated. When our friend came to pick up our dog on the 5th day of my dog’s stay she notified me that my dog’s neck has dog poop all around it, her fur was matted, and her crate bedding had pee and poop on it. My dog is potty trained and never has an accident in her crate. I’m not sure how my dog walked out of there with the poop on her neck or her bedding being soiled. I’m concerned for other dogs who stay with with this sitter for their well being. It appears there is a lack of knowledge on how to care of dogs, and dogs who may have high energy. I have been around dogs and cats my entire life. My 2 year old pup has been in multiple different boarding facilities and homes across different states and never once had any issues. My previous house boarder can even attest that my dog would play around all day, never once chew up anything but a chew bone, or be whining/howling/barking throughout the night. My dog is a social creature, she loves to be around adults, play fetch and entertain herself. I believe my dog was not properly cared for during her stay with this sitter. This experience caused a lot of additional stress during the holiday time for my family. Any communication we received was negative about my dogs behavior. This is not a problem with my dog, this is a problem with the sitter’s ability to watch multiple dogs at the same time. Please be cautious if you are considering this sitter for a boarding experience.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this sitter for anyone. As someone who has had dogs their entire life, using sitters on several occasions, I can say this was probably one of the most stressful and upsetting dog ownership experiences I've had. I was astounded by the lack of knowledge demonstrated by this sitter and the lack of communication. As background, our dog is a young, well socialized and crate trained, rescue dog who has not had any issues with potty, noise, other dogs or humans over the several months we've had her. 3 days into her 10 day stay, the sitter contacted us noting that our dog was having significant potty issues (both poop and pee) and even asked for compensation for soiled portions of their home. We were obviously concerned with the dog's health as this was not normal and we had previously boarded the dog at friends' homes with zero issues. After investigating with the sitter, she told us she had walked the dog but had not tracked when/if she went to the bathroom and that she "let the dogs out back" in their yard prior to bedtime. She also noted she did not limit our dog's water before bedtime as we'd asked her to do in our instructions both via Rover, messenger, and at drop off. I was a bit stunned she was unaware that some dogs are trained to relieve themselves on a walk and not by just being released outside with other dogs. Even worse, when asked, the sitter was unaware if our dog had eaten other dogs' food as she allowed free range eating despite us noting that could be a cause for her tummy disruptions. She did not seem to have a good grasp on what the dogs in her care were eating or when they were eating. The sitter additionally complained our dog was making significant noise (whining) throughout the day and though the night. When asked, the sitter noted she had kept our dog in the crate for sleeping (as well as parts of the day which we recommended when she could not be supervised) but that other dogs she was watching were allowed to roam free in the same room. It seems obvious that any sociable dog would be upset being in a crate while other dogs roamed freely in front of her. In addition, one night, the sitter "forgot" to put the 4 dogs in her care in their crates for the night (crates are listed as a requirement for her services) which we thought could have been very dangerous to have dogs who are not well known to each other roam freely in a room all night unsupervised. The sitter also did request compensation a second time for soiled home areas (laminate floors). We were so concerned with the dog's well-being, we relied on a friend to pick up the dog early. We received the dog's bedding and toys heavily soiled (soaked), to the point we had to dispose of the dog's bedding and most toys. Bottom Line: I cannot in good conscience recommend this sitter to anyone and, in fact, this incident has made us reconsider using Rover in the future. While I am sure the sitter has no ill will towards our dog, I do suspect she had little knowledge of taking care of several dogs which could have put any of the dogs' in her care health at risk.
