Pet care experience
Attentive, Individualized Care
I offer a quieter, more individualized kind of dog sitting. I only take dogs from one household at a time, so your dog won’t be sharing the space with a rotating group of other dogs. That allows me to give them a lot of individual attention and to keep their routine as familiar as possible. I’m a licensed acupuncturist and a therapist in training, so being reliable and observant is a big part of my professional life. I’m also very conscientious about following your instructions closely. I know how much the little details matter, and I make a point of keeping track of feeding schedules, medications, walks, sleeping arrangements, and the routines that help your dog feel at home. I have firsthand experience caring for an anxious dog who later developed dementia and physical limitations. Because of that, I’m especially comfortable with senior dogs and dogs who are sensitive or easily overwhelmed. I understand how much patience and consistency can matter when a dog needs extra support. I’m especially available on weekends, when I can spend plenty of time with your dog rather than fitting visits around a packed schedule. Depending on their personality and energy level, we might have a quiet day at home, take neighborhood walks, or head out to places like Piedmont Park, the Albany Bulb, or the beach. I want your dog to feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away, and I want you to feel completely confident that someone is really paying attention to them.

Ratings and reviews
Karrin was so wonderful with my dog Luther! Super responsive, accommodating and took really great care of him. She updated me with pictures of their adventures and was incredibly flexible when I had changed plans. She was awesome and a natural dog caregiver.

Karrin is an incredibly compassionate person who loves all animals and is meticulously responsible. She's has a lot of experience with dogs, including her own dog who had some anxiety and had complex care needs as he aged. She tended to all of these issues with love and dedication. As an experienced dog walker and house-sitter she is very attentive to the homeowner's wishes and directions. I would absolutely trust her to care for any pet of mine and would feel at ease in my time away knowing my pet was in good, gentle, conscientious hands.
Karrin speaks dog! Our pup Atticus has such a good time when he is with her and comes home relaxed and happy. We trust leaving our little boy with her 100%. She is warm, loving, and attentive. Karrin and Atticus have truly bonded, which is so important to us. They both are so excited to see each other; it's quite sweet! Atticus can be reactive with men and lung at bicycles, but Karrin can handle it. She gives Atticus the extra care and attention that he needs. We are so happy we found her!!!
Karrin is the absolute dream dog auntie! She is incredibly loving, attentive, responsible, and trustworthy, and she treats every animal in her care like they’re part of her own family. She’s the person I would trust without hesitation with a beloved pet—whether they need snuggles, adventures, patience, or a little extra TLC. Animals adore her, and their humans can relax knowing they’re in wonderfully capable and loving hands. I can’t recommend Karrin highly enough!

Schedule
Pet care fits best into my schedule on weekends, when I have plenty of time to give dogs attention, walks, companionship, and a relaxed home environment. I’m generally available from Friday evening through Sunday and can often accommodate weekend boarding or daytime care. During the week I work a regular professional schedule, so I’m intentional about only accepting bookings when I know I can provide the time and attention a pet needs. When a dog is staying with me, I want them to be part of my routine rather than squeezed into it.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I take safety and trust seriously and make a point of following each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. In my home, I provide a calm, comfortable environment and make sure dogs have appropriate supervision, regular walks and potty breaks, fresh water, and plenty of attention. I’m careful about feeding instructions, medications, leash safety, and any behavioral or health concerns you share with me. I also like to know about a dog’s personality, triggers, routines, and preferences ahead of time so I can help them feel comfortable and settled. If I’m caring for a pet in your home, I’m respectful of your space and follow your instructions closely. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
A typical day
A typical day really depends on your pet’s routine and energy level. I’m happy to keep things familiar and follow whatever they’re used to at home. For dogs who like getting out and exploring, we can go for walks around the neighborhood, head to Piedmont Park, wander around the Albany Bulb, or even go to the beach. For lower energy pets, I’m equally happy to keep things mellow with shorter walks, lots of company, and plenty of time to relax. I’ll make sure meals, medications, and routines stay consistent, and I’ll keep you updated while you’re away so you know how they’re doing.

- I’d love to know as much as you can tell me about your pet’s usual routine, personality, and preferences. Are they comfortable with other dogs, cats, and people? Is there anything that makes them nervous or reactive? I’d also want to know about any medications, health needs, food restrictions, quirks on walks, escape artist tendencies, or anything else that will help me understand them and keep them safe and happy while you’re away.
