Vet Tech Extraordinaire!
My name is Karla and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician from Vancouver, BC. Along with my RVT diploma I also have a veterinary assistant diploma and Canadian Council on Animal Care certification. Animals have been a large part of my life for over 15 years and everything I do is influenced in providing the best care for them. My experience with dogs and cats range from taking care of neonatal, adolescent puppies/kittens to geriatric, debilitated animals. I have a lot of experience with pets that have specific medical requirements (e.g. requires oral and/or injectable medication) and have a strong background in animal handling. I currently work in a gold standard Vancouver veterinary hospital so worst case scenario your dogs are in good hands and the best immediate care would be available.

Ratings and reviews
Karla was wonderful house sitting with our very anxious pup for 10 nights! She was responsible, communicative, and clearly took the time to get to know him. We've never seen him so settled after coming back from a trip. We would definitely have her back any time.

Karla looked after our dogs for us while we were away for a night and sent me an update + photos of them and the girls seemed very chill and happy in her company!! Would absolutely use again, thank you so much!!!

Really great at taking care of our needy cat who required a lot of medical attention 😅 Very relieved to leave on vacation knowing she was looking after our fur babies!
Our second time using Karla and she is amazing 🥰 I felt so comfortable knowing she was watching over my babies!

Karla did a great job looking after our 90lb Black lab through Thanksgiving and the 5 days we were away. She sent regular updates to us throughout our trip. Will ask her to look after our dog again. Also left our place very clean.

Karla immediately showed love and care for my dog! She asked any pertinent health/behavior questions beforehand and clearly seems to know proper dog care. Definitely made me feel safe to leave Harlow with her. 10/10

Schedule
I work 4-5 days a week as a work from home vet tech therefore I'm able to be in the same room as them at all times and frequent bathroom breaks. The current home I'm living in as a large fenced yard. On the 3 days off I am available to fully focus and spend time with the pet, whether that means a nice long hike or making sure they're relaxed, well fed and taken care of.
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
My current home accommodates pets of any size. I live in a house with a large fenced yard and work from home. In regards to staying in other people's homes, I am very reliable with general house sitting and am happy to clean/maintain the house. I am also happy to offer reviews and references as I am a big advocate for the pet owner to feel safe about their pet and home
A typical day
I am a huge advocate for a happy and tired dog via vigorous exercise and hiking. However, I completely accommodate the older or more easily tired animals that just need someone to care their basic needs and have daily cuddles! Currently I am located in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Vancouver so I can easily pet sit any animal in the Vancouver area.

- No breed preference, however need to know dog's overall demeanor to other people and dogs. E.g. aggressive towards small dogs, anxious around tall people, hates skateboards, loves squirrels, etc.
