Pet care experience
Confident with active dogs
I have energetic Working Cocker Spaniel, and we've spent the last few years training together, focusing on gundog commands, whistle recall, scent work, and building good manners both at home and out on walks. That experience has taught me how to read canine body language, understand different temperaments, and help dogs settle into new environments. Before Beau, I grew up on a farm surrounded by dogs and animals. My first dog, Indi, was a working Patterdale Terrier who spent his days alongside my dad around livestock. I helped raise and train him from a puppy and later supported his care into old age, including regular hydrotherapy sessions to keep him comfortable and mobile. Every dog is different, so I like to understand their routine, personality, and any behaviours before they stay with me. If your dog is planning to stay for more then one night, I will book in a trial night with you before hands to make sure we are a suitable fit. My aim is always to provide a safe, calm environment where dogs can relax, have fun, and be treated as one of the family.

Schedule
I'm a remote UX/UI designer and my day revolves around Beau. We start each morning with a walk before I begin work, followed by another walk later in the day and plenty of time for enrichment and relaxing at home. Every dog is different, so I'm happy to adapt walks and activities to suit their age, energy levels and routine. I enjoy mixing physical exercise with mental stimulation. Whether that's practising recall, scent games, using enrichment toys, or simply giving dogs time to sniff and explore, I find it helps them settle well and enjoy their stay.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I offer a calm, secure home with plenty of space and structure. I have a fenced back garden with shady trees, grass, and a small patio – perfect for outdoor play and breaks, with fresh water always available. The front garden leads onto a private estate, so any front access is always supervised and leash-only. Inside, the main living areas are spacious with easy-to-clean floors (kitchen, hallway, and lounge), and a stair gate keeps dogs safely downstairs. My dog is fully house-trained and respectful of space, and I welcome visiting dogs with the same boundaries. If your dog uses a crate, I can provide one or you’re welcome to bring your own – I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine. There are no small children in the home. Please note, all damages will have to be paid for.

A typical day
With Beau and me, your dog can expect an early morning walk of around an hour, exploring local commons, woodland, or quieter spots depending on the weather. I encourage calm check-ins, allow plenty of time for sniffing and exploring, and adapt each walk to the dog's confidence and recall. Back at home, I like to keep dogs mentally stimulated as well as physically exercised. I have puzzle toys, scent games, and frozen Kongs to help dogs settle and unwind. For longer stays, please bring along your dog's favourite treats or enrichment so we can keep them in a familiar routine. Lunchtime and evening walks are usually shorter and more relaxed, giving everyone a chance to wind down. At weekends we often head a little further afield for longer walks with more space to explore. Throughout their stay, I tailor the routine around your dog's personality, energy levels, and usual habits, so they feel safe, settled, and part of the family.
