Pet care experience
A life at sea, with a heart for dogs!
I work away at sea for two-month periods as a private chef onboard large Superyacht, so I can’t have a dog of my own right now — but I’m a huge dog lover. When I’m home, I regularly help out on a friend’s small holding, often taking care of their two Huntaway dogs Harbour & Henley. I’m very comfortable with active, working breeds. I grew up walking my aunts Welsh Springer and Jack Russel whom I was very fond of. I would check in on them at take them on regular walks when she was on holiday, or join her on long walks at the weekend and whenever I could, also helping her train them as puppies and going to gun dog shows with her. On my father’s side, I always looked forward to trips to my uncles house where he always had 3 lively cockers that we’d play catch with in the fields at the back of his house. I’ve even had to cook for a yacht owners dog and we (the crew) took turns taking her for a walk. You’ll see on my photos a picture of me walking Blossom ashore in the Caribbean with her Tiffany collar! I’m also a big lover of the outdoors — long walks, camping trips, exploring, and mountain-biking in my Land Rover are my favourite ways to spend time, and I love nothing more than having a dog along for the adventure.

Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. I’m calm, patient, and confident with all types of dogs. I take time to get to know each dog’s routine, needs, and personality so they feel secure with me. Whether we’re out exploring or relaxing at home, I keep a close eye on their wellbeing and always put trust, consistency, and care at the centre of everything I do. As I am currently in the middle of a house purchase at this time I can not host in my home, but I will be able to do so in the future in the Shrewsbury area.

I’m Karl’s aunty, as a young boy he came with me and his mum to choose a welsh springer spaniel puppy from a breeder. He wanted to bring all of puppies home and helped me choose one and nursed her all the way home. Karl spent many hours with Sadie as she grew, playing with her, lead training, walks after school as often as he could and helping me at village shows and qualifying for Crufts gun dog. After Sadie passed on, I had another welsh springer Rex, he was a strong young pup on the lead, but afraid of traffic and people. Karl would talk to him, calm him down, walk him in quite places to build his confidence on the lead, traffic and meeting others. Karl has shown that he is a natural caring person around dogs, giving lots of love, attention, time for play, their well-being and safety. He would have his own dog but his current employment at sea, it is not possible. I would recommend Karl for this role and I know he would ask the owner about the dog he was looking after.
I’d like to give a huge thank-you to Karl for looking after my house so exceptionally well. He was reliable, attentive, and treated my home with the same care and respect he would his own. Everything was kept spotless and in perfect order, and he handled every detail with professionalism and genuine thoughtfulness. I’m truly grateful for his help, and I wouldn’t hesitate to trust him with my home again. Highly recommended!

Schedule
Because I work away, I’m fully available for dog care when I’m home and therefore will have zero work commitments during the dates I mark myself as available. When I’m off, my schedule is very flexible — I’m outdoors most days anyway, so fitting in walks, drop-ins, or longer adventures is easy for me. I make sure any bookings I accept get my full attention and plenty of time.
