I live in a two-story townhome with my partner. We have a large, fully fenced backyard with neighbors that do not have pets of their own. Our home is childfree, smoke-free, and we do not have any pets ourselves. Dogs are welcome on furniture and beds but we can accommodate any restrictions your pets have if they need to keep a routine!

All dogs have their quirks! I'd particularly like to know how used to walking they are, how well they get along with other dogs and people, and what gear they use (harness, type of leash, etc). If applicable, I'd also like to know about their medications and if they have any separation anxiety.
A typical day
I love taking dogs on walks (either strolls for sniffs, or for more serious steps counts) and playing out in our backyard! (Especially early morning to avoid hot weather.) I'm here for what suits your dog(s) best - whether that's active playtime or calm downtime & attention. I work remotely from home so I have control over my schedule.

*My books are now open for new clients!* I’m an animal lover through and through, and am excited to be on Rover in East Austin to provide all the dog cuddles, care, and attention while you’re away. I specialize in boarding and repeat clients, and generally prefer to take on clients with boarding needs ranging from 1-5 nights. I exclusively take on one client at a time, ensuring your pet(s) will receive the attention and care they need. I was the typical kid that begged my parents for pets, and provisionally got them under the condition I'd be the sole carer. Over the course of 16 years I cared for three parakeets, a thirty gallon tank of fish, two rabbits, and a golden retriever named Lucy. I've always been around animals of all kinds with a wide range of temperaments and activity levels.

Karissa was amazing! I have two dogs- a senior and young dog, both with their own little quirks. She handled them like a pro, sent us updates, and when we came home, the house was clean and dogs were happy! With my skittish senior, Karissa was able to successfully get him to eat his food and pills (not easy to do!). Also- Karissa was an excellent communicator regarding scheduling and a meeting with the dogs. Highly recommend her to watch your pets - worth every dollar if you want to not stress about the care of your animals when you’re away. Trust me- we have had nightmare experiences with others. She’s truly a gem.
