Pet care experience

Dog lover in East Arlington

I am a life-long dog lover and owner! I adopted my first dog of my own in 1998 and have had at least one in my family ever since! I was a dog foster parent for six years until I decided to focus more fully on pet-sitting. I have been a Rover sitter since 2017. My own dogs now are a 14ish year-old hound mix named Katie, who was an epic foster-fail, and a sweet 10 year-old basset hound named Fisher who was re-homed to me by a valued client in need. Working or traveling pet parents want to have their furry loved ones in great hands and cared for while they are away. I understand that, and want to provide love, companionship, and exercise to these dogs! I have experience with dogs from chihuahua to great dane, and all sizes in between. I have cared for puppies and senior dogs, blind and deaf dogs, diabetic dogs requiring insulin injections, dogs with seizure disorders, anxiety, incontinence, and more. Aside from being a pet-parent, I am also a mom. I have two sons, college age, who are of up-most importance to me. They are also dog lovers, and occasionally like to join me for walks or visits (only if you approve). I prefer to work within a few miles from home, in order to accommodate more clients, and not spend my day driving. If you ask me to check in on your dogs in your home, I will play with them, give them affection, or whatever they need. I always refresh water bowls and clean up messes as needed. When walking dogs, I stay in your neighborhood and walk only your dog(s) during your booking. I provide my own poop bags and treats if needed. During the hot months, I walk dogs only before noon or evenings if at all possible to avoid burnt paws and heat exhaustion. If you choose me to take care of your dog(s) I won't let you down!

I want to cater my playtime to your dog's preferences, fetch with frisbees, balls, or other toys is always fun. Walks around your neighborhood to enjoy the outdoors, do potty business, and get rid of excess energy are the best!
