Availability
I provide overnight sitting services, caring for your pets and home while you are away. Please note that I am not generally available for drop-ins. I am flexible about arrival and departure times within the constraints of other sits before or after yours. I travel by car to sits and need access to a place to park during my stay. I work remotely, so I will be able to spend most of my time keeping your animal(s) company and making sure that all is well in your home. Though I plan to be at home with the animal(s) most of the time, I do appreciate knowing how long they can go between potty breaks/meals/meds, etc. so I can schedule meetings/errands/appointments in a way that supports the animal's comfort.

I follow your instructions for caring for your pet(s) and try to keep their routine as familiar as possible even though they don't have their usual family around. I build rapport and trust with each pet and pay attention to their cues. I treat your home with respect and care, cleaning up after myself and your pet(s). You should expect to come home to a space that is as least as clean as you left it!

I like to know about any health or behavioral issues and your usual ways of addressing them. I like to know how a dog may react to encountering other dogs and people on walks. I also like to know about food sensitivities, favorite treats and toys, and an animal's usual routine so I can stick to it as much as possible.
A typical day
A typical day involves keeping your pets in their comfortable routine: meals, exercise/playtime (especially with favorite toys!), any medications, treats, and cleaning of habitats when the animal(s) are used to such things. For dog walks, I like to let the dog(s) pick a route to the good smells they want to explore, within the bounds of your instructions. In between these activities, I'll be working remotely from your home. I may also step out for appointments or errands on occasion, but am home with the animal(s) most of the time.

Pet care experience
I'm a full-time pet sitter certified by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. I have current dog and cat CPR certification and have completed training in pet first aid. (See photos for copies of certificates.) I have extensive experience with cats and dogs, including senior animals and those with health issues. As of September 2025, I've provided professional care to over 128 animals (75 dogs, 37 cats, 4 hens, 2 ponies, and assorted rodents, reptiles, fish, and snails) for 67 households. I've lived with eight cats, seven dogs, one rabbit, one horse, one pony, one Quaker parrot, and two guinea pigs (not all at the same time!). Before I started doing this professionally, people I know entrusted me with the care of cats, dogs, horses, a rabbit, a chinchilla, an iguana, and many houseplants, and I've been a volunteer dog walker for an animal shelter.

Karin took amazing care of our 2 dogs and home for a week. She is so professional and incredibly detail oriented. Our dogs require special medications and care, and they were happy, healthy, and calm when we arrived home. Our house was also spotless. I’ve never felt as reassured and worry free while traveling before!
Karin cared for our mini dachshund, Milo for 4 nights while we were on vacation and did a fantastic job following our care instructions and keeping us updated as to how he was doing. Her attention to detail and communication put us so at ease knowing that he was getting tons of love and care while we were away. Milo takes a little time to get comfortable with new people but by the end he was snuggling on her lap and seeming so happy to be with Karin! We’re so glad to have found her and will be continuing to book her to take care of him when we’re away!
