I have been pet sitting dogs since I was in high school, and I always make it a priority to follow each owner’s instructions carefully so their pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I have also worked and volunteered at a veterinary clinic for about four years, which has given me valuable hands-on experience with animals and helped me better understand their behavior, comfort, and needs. I am currently studying Animal Sciences and preparing for veterinary school, so caring for animals is something I take very seriously. I also have a 10-year-old dog named Niko, and taking care of him every day has taught me a lot about responsibility, patience, and recognizing when a pet may need extra attention. I have experience caring for both senior and adult dogs, as well as energetic and highly active pets. I understand the importance of respecting an animal’s boundaries and paying attention to body language and signs of stress or discomfort. If an owner has specific concerns, routines, or instructions, I make sure to respect them and provide the level of care they expect. My goal is always to help pets feel secure, happy, and cared for while their owners are away.

Safety, trust & environment
I always make safety my top priority when walking a dog. I carefully follow the owner’s instructions regarding walking routes, leash or harness use, interactions with other dogs, feeding, treats, and any special needs. Before each walk, I make sure the leash and equipment are secure, and during the walk I stay aware of traffic, weather conditions, other animals, and anything that could make the dog uncomfortable or unsafe. My experience working and volunteering in a veterinary clinic has also helped me learn how to read animal body language and recognize signs of stress or discomfort. I respect every dog’s boundaries and adjust the walk based on their energy level, age, and individual needs. I also make sure they have access to water and are safely returned home after every walk.

I have grown up with Karime, so I have personally witnessed her tremendous animal care skills. After 17 years of friendship, she has taken amazing care of every pet she has worked with. As an animal science student, her attention to detail and curiosity is so apparent. She has cared for dogs, cats, and cattle, and it has always been one of the most impressive things about her. She is generous and communicative, and she has always shown such a deep sense of love and care for every person and creature she comes into contact with. Every pet loves her-- I'm convinced my childhood dog gets more excited to see her than me sometimes! Schedule
I am a full-time student at the University of Illinois, and I also work part-time and participate in campus organizations. My schedule still gives me plenty of time throughout the week to care for pets. On weekdays, I often have gaps between classes when I can stop by for walks or check-ins, and I am usually available after 5:00 P.M. My availability may vary slightly depending on my class and work schedule. On Saturdays, I am available most of the day, and on Sundays I am generally available before 3:00 P.M. I am happy to work with pet owners to find times that fit both of our schedules.
