Now that I have retired from teaching I have time to focus solely on looking after dogs in my home. I do not have any other "work from home" job which could act as a distraction.

Safety, trust & environment
Health and safety are always my top priority, so your dog will be checked over each day and I will make sure that she/he is drinking, eating and toileting regularly. Before dropping off your dog I will send you a short questionnaire so that I can adapt our schedule, as much as possible, so that your dog can keep to her/his normal routine, therefore, minimizing any stress.

Information Karen W. would like to know about your pet
I will get to know as much as possible about your dog and his/her usual routine before he/she arrives, by asking the appropriate questions in the questionnaire that you will receive before arrival, and when we meet up before booking if you decide to take advantage of the free 30 minute visit available to each dog owner.
A typical day
Your dog will get 3 walks per day at a variety of different places and will have access to our garden and free run of our house. There will be plenty of play time too. I will ask about your dog's favourite toys and games as part of the questionnaire mentioned previously. We will adapt our usual routine to fit in with your dog's routine as much as possible.

Pet care experience
I grew up looking after two horses, three dogs and three cats, so looking after animals is like second nature to me. In more recent years I worked as a Primary School Teacher and therefore I only had time to look after our miniature poodle and a few dogs belonging to friends and family. This may sound strange but looking after children at school has many similarities to looking after a group of dogs! They all need fresh air, physical activity, regular feeding, love and mental stimulation. And, of course, my top priority is always health and safety. You are welcome to come and visit before booking.
Reviews

Brilliant dog sitter. Max was well‑cared for and came home happy and relaxed. Highly recommend.

Leo had a lovely time with you, thank you for looking after him. I know he’s well looked after and so happy when he comes to your house. Sarah

Karen was absolutely amazing with Reggie. I was really anxious leaving Reggie but Karen put my mind at ease straight away. I had daily updates with photos and videos. Even when I messaged(a lot) to ask how he was Karen always replied straight away. I am so thankful for how Karen looked after Reggie when I was away. ❤️

Thanks Karen for looking after Lyra, she had such a lovely time, just what we were looking for. Good communication with regular updates. Fully recommended. Robert
