Availability
I am available most days for dog walking and drop in visits for dogs and cats, in the Media/Swarthmore area. Although I have several recurring lunch-time bookings, I am generally able to fit a new local walk in between visits to my fluffy friends! I try to stay close to the scheduled time, although overlapping bookings may occur, and travel time, etc, may cause a variance in the time. Please expect me to arrive at the scheduled time, give or take an hour. If a pet needs a visit at a specific time (puppies needing a potty break on schedule, medications, etc!), please communicate this need and I'll do my best to accomodate!

When I visit your home, I will feed your pets, and walk your dog. Whether your dog is large or small, a senior or a puppy, and anything in between, I will tailor the level of activity to their needs. I definitely prefer to do a "meet and greet" if possible with you and your pets before booking. Certainly, time and schedules may prevent this but for sitters, owners, and pets, this usually prevents a lot of confusion with instructions, and ensures that everyone is comfortable! For the safety of your pet and myself, I do not use a retractable leash with any dog. If you don't have a stationary leash, I will gladly use on I provide! Although I love to care for kitties, I do not accept bookings for indoor/outdoor cats, unless they will stay inside. I want to make sure you come to a happy and healthy cat!

An energetic walk through the park, or a slow stroll around the block? A nice belly rub and ear scratches, or a fun session of fetch in the back yard? No matter what your dog needs, I'm ready to tailor my visit so every dog (and cat!) in my care is happy and safe.

Pet care experience
I've always loved animals and I've been lucky to have both dogs and cats leave their pawprints on my heart! I currently have two doodles at home. It was my honor to be a volunteer working with dogs at a local animal rescue center, both with adult dogs and puppies. I helped with anything I can, from cleaning kennels, preparing enrichment feedings, socializing puppies in quarantine, bathing puppies, and working with the behavioral team. It was hard work, but somehow I left with more energy and joy than I had when I walked in! Animals have that special gift of spreading joy! I'd love to bring my experience and love for animals to you, and give your furry friends all the love and attention they need when you're away.

Karen was wonderful with my 2 dogs! She is reliable, caring and kept me updated with photos and messages. My dogs were so well cared for and I could see how happy and content they were in the photos! Knowing they were in such good hands gave me complete peace of mind. I would highly recommend Karen to anyone!
This was such a positive experience for us - leaving our kitties for the first time for this long. Karen made us feel comfortable right from the start and took EXCELLENT photos!!! We will be using her often from here on in!

Karen is a dog whisperer. Couldn't believe how she and Franny connected. A little problem with our door lock, but all worked out and she was super flexible about coming back to the house.
