I've cared for dogs my entire life and have more than 40 years of hands-on experience with different ages, sizes and personalities. I share my home with two dogs of my own, so caring for dogs is part of my everyday life. I have experience with basic training and enrichment, as well as caring for senior dogs who made meed a gentler pace and extra patience. I keep my guest list small so each dog gets individual attention, playtime, affection and a comfortable home environment. I also require a meet -and -greet before boarding so I can make sure every dog is a good fit.

Karen is one of those people who has always had a special connection with animals. Horses, ducks, chickens, cats, and of course dogs. Somehow, animals just naturally trust and love her. She almost has a sixth sense with them. I’m really excited to see her start this new chapter with Happy Hounds. She has an amazing property with acres of space and a huge newly expanded backyard where dogs can run, play, and explore. But what really makes Happy Hounds special is Karen. Her heart is bigger than most people will ever know, especially when it comes to animals. There is honestly no one I would trust more to look after my pet. With Karen, they won’t just be watched. They’ll be genuinely cared for and loved. ❤️🐾
Karen is a dog whisperer. Our Havanese won't leave her side or lap and he gets upset when they part ways. Our King Charles Spaniel adores her. She has great instincts on the best food and how to love each dog. Her two dogs are very sweet, spoiled with a big safe back yard, a doggy door, and they sleep in bed with her!
Karen is THE K-9 caregiver! She knows how to treat dogs with lovingkindness, providing a healthy environment in which they can thrive and interact like children on a playground under careful supervision. Karen has created the ideal environment for a doggy luxury hotel with all the amenities. She is trustworthy, responsible, and knowledgeable--and you can be completely sure your puppy is in safe hands.
In the past 10 years that I have known Karen, she has always been a lover, not only of her own dogs but others as well. She makes cookies that dogs love. Karen has created a safe and secure place for dogs to be safe and at peace where she lives. She lives on 5 acres here in Arizona with a rattlesnakes proof back yard that visiting dogs will love. Schedule
I'm currently working through September 23, so my availability is limited until then. Beginning October 1, I'll be fully available for boarding and doggy day care. I am available before October 1 to schedule meet-and greets for future stays. My schedule then will be centered around the dogs in may care, with plenty of time to play, enrichment and outdoor time.

Safety, trust & environment
I provide care exclusively in my home, where dogs have access to a large, secure fenced yard and a dog door for easy indoor/outdoor access. I have two friendly dogs of my own and carefully introduce guest dogs to make sure everyone is comfortable together. I keep the number of guest dogs small so each dog gets plenty of individual attention, supervised play time and a comfortable home environement. I can also crate a dog if that is part of their normal routine. I require a meet-and-greet before any stay to make sure it is a good fit.
