When caring for pets as a sitter, I respect both your space and your pets. While I am walking others' dogs, I feel best with on-leash walks, and I will clean up after them. I also always provide animals with fresh clean water during my visits and routine caretaking. I like to keep the home and pets clean, safe, and comfortable while you are away.

Meet and greets are very important to me, to help both me and your pets to get aquainted, develop trust, and become friends, making for a relaxed visit. I look forward to hearing about your pets personalities, and it is good for me to learn of your pets' needs, comforts, and any fears, so I can help them feel safe and comfortable.
A typical day
When I meet pets, I like to invite them to come to me to say hi. I enjoy learning their favorite games, toys, and treats, and I love interacting with animals, playing fetch, going on walks outside, playing hide and seek, and giving cuddles and belly rubs. I am also content with spending relaxing time together if your pet simply enjoys company. My motto is to bring joy to animals lives, for both mind and body happiness.

As an animal lover and caretaker over the past 40 years, I have experience raising dogs through all ages of life from puppies to seniors & deaf dogs, as well as cats, and farm animals. This love for animals began even before I was a high school 4-H and FFA student working with large farm animals, growing up with cats and dogs. As a pet-sitter for others, I have cared for many kinds of animals in addition to cats and dogs. I was the Dog Leader for the Murphys 4-H for 7 years and assisted the kids in training their dogs to show at the fair. While I have experience training animals, I also love to offer them tender loving care, spending quality time with them, and being their friend. It is important to me that dogs and humans both enjoy play and joy in their days, so I am happy to offer this for your pets when you cannot be there.

We had a wonderful experience using Karen as a dog sitter. We met her a couple of times before our booking and it was clear that she had a lot of experience with animals and dogs, which gave us peace of mind for leaving our special needs dog behind to go on a trip. Karen followed our care instructions meticulously and treated our dog with the utmost care, love, and respect. She provided daily updates and photos as well as a log of activities. We came home to a relaxed and happy dog. Karen is professional, responsible, caring, and thoughtful and I will not hesitate to use her again the future. My dog already misses spending time with her!
