PLEASE NOTE: We are adding a new golden retriever puppy to our family in mid-September, so we will be on a brief hiatus while we focus on his health and basic training! We anticipate taking reservations again after he is fully vaccinated in November. We are a dog loving family with experience from puppyhood to senior care. We’ve raised dogs from breeders and we’ve fostered/rescued. One of our beloved goldens had a severe genetic heart disease, so we’ve dealt with medical conditions and the accompanying drugs and modified care they require. Through all of our canine experiences, we’ve learned that dogs thrive with consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of love and affection. Our dogs have always been a huge part of our family, and we look forward to your pup falling in with our routines like he/she is one of our own. We only take one family’s dog(s) at a time, so your dog(s) will get our family’s full attention.

10/10!! This was our first time leaving our dog overnight with someone other than family and by the end of our trip, Karen and Chris felt like family! We are so grateful for finding them through Rover. We looked forward to every message/update Karen sent (many times a day), simply the best! It was nice to get away for a couple nights and know our four-legged child was in great care. Thank you!!
Karen and Chris were, without question, the best dog sitters we’ve ever had. We live in Georgia, but from the area and were getting married at Shepherd’s Run just down the street, and leaving our dog, Kota, during such an important week was one of the things I was most anxious about. From the moment we met them, they gave us complete peace of mind so we could fully enjoy every moment of our wedding celebrations. Karen kept us updated every day with adorable photos and thoughtful messages, and she was always quick to respond. It was clear that Kota was genuinely loved and cared for like she was part of their own family. Kota definitely has a second Rhode Island family now! We will absolutely be using Karen and Chris every time we’re back in Rhode Island, and we can’t recommend them highly enough. If you’re looking for trustworthy, loving, and truly exceptional pet sitters, and great people, look no further.
This was the second time we have used Karen and Chris and they did a fabulous job. They communicate really well and send lots of photos. It is clear that our dogs really enjoy the time spent with their family.
Karen and Chris took great care of our dogs! They made sure to find out everything they needed to know about our dogs ahead of time. They made our dogs feel comfortable, gave them lots of love and playtime in their large backyard. Karen sent us several photos and updates every day. Their whole family seems to love dogs and made the visit wonderful.
Karen, Chris, and their family were truly the best of the best when it came to caring for our Sunny while we were away on vacation for a week. It was clear from the start how much love and attention they gave him—he absolutely adored them and their dog! He even whined on the car ride home because he didn’t want to leave, which says everything. Karen provided multiple daily updates, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was wonderful to see how comfortable, happy, and well cared for Sunny was throughout the week. We truly can’t recommend them enough and feel so lucky to have found such incredible sitters. Thank you again, Karen, Chris, Abby, Joe, and Charm —Sunny already misses you all so much!
Karen and Chris were awesome dog-sitters. We met before the trip to introduce our dogs to theirs - the dogs had a blast and Karen and Chris had great questions for us to make sure they knew everything needed to care for our dogs while we were away. When we left, they sent us tons of pics every day with updates on the fun they were having! We hope Karen and Chris are available the next time we go away!

Schedule
Your dog(s) will spend their weekdays hanging out with my husband, me, and/or our 11 year old black lab in our house or outside in our large, fenced-in backyard. On evenings and weekends they’ll enjoy the extra company of our dog-loving teenagers, who will spoil them rotten with playtime and lots of attention!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a big, fenced in yard so your dog will get plenty of outdoor time. For the most part, your dog(s) will have free rein to be with our family doing whatever we’re doing — but we do have several crates and portable fences that we can use as needed to provide separation and quiet time. We want your dog to be comfortable and happy in our home, so we’ll work closely with you before your visit to make sure we understand his/her habits and routines!

A typical day
We have a large, beautiful backyard that’s perfect for doggy romps and playing fetch. Our family room has a full box of doggy toys ready and waiting to be played with. The dogs we watch tend to quickly become part of our family routine: afternoon walks, nighttime snuggles on the couch to watch a show, and upstairs for bedtime -- your call whether it's in a crate or on our bed ;).
