I make sure their basic needs are taken care of, while also giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and affection if they’re comfortable with it. I’ll get everything that needs to be done done, but I also like to go above and beyond—whether that means spending a little extra time with them, giving them some extra playtime, or sending updates and photos so their owners know they’re happy and cared for.

I’d love to know about your pet’s personality, daily routine, favorite activities, and anything that makes them feel comfortable or uncomfortable. Please let me know about any special needs, dietary restrictions, medications, behavioral quirks, or things I should be aware of. I’m comfortable with shy, anxious, energetic, and more challenging pets, and I always respect their boundaries and give them time to warm up to me. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away.
A typical day
Every pet is different, so I like to tailor our time together to their personality and comfort level. For playful pets, I’ll spend time playing with their favorite toys, giving them enrichment and plenty of attention. For more relaxed or shy pets, I’m happy to simply keep them company, offer gentle affection, or let them come to me on their own terms. I’ll also make sure they get everything they need, including meals, fresh water, litter box care, walks or potty breaks when needed, and plenty of love and attention. My goal is for them to have a fun, comfortable visit while sticking to their normal routine.

Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Karen, a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for both small and large pets. I’ve cared for everything from my hamster in high school to my sister’s German Shepherd, Kratos, and I’m currently a proud cat mom to two senior cats, Leo and Toast. Beyond my own pets, I regularly care for my friends’ cats and dogs when they’re out of town. I’m comfortable with different personalities, routines, and energy levels, and I understand that every pet has their own quirks and needs. I’ve even had experience working with aggressive or anxious cats, as one of my own cats, Leo, can be quite the little spicy guy! I’m comfortable around both small and large animals, and while I may be small myself, I’m mighty when it comes to handling pets. I’m patient, attentive, and respectful of each pet’s boundaries, and I’ll always take the time to make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, a walk, some playtime, a meal, a clean litter box, or simply some company while you’re away, I’d be happy to give them the same care and attention I’d want someone to give my own pets. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in good hands!
