As a lifelong animal lover & retired nurse, I am highly committed to offering individualized, holistic care to your 4-legged family members in their own home. I stay continually attuned to each one’s unique needs and ways of being, offering any extra attention or adjustments that will help them feel deeply cared for while you are away. I am also very skilled at gentle provision of their required medications, with much experience in finding creative ways to do so when necessary.

You couldn't find a better person to care for your pets. Karen looked after our 2 cats for an extended period of time and there was never a doubt our cats were loved and cared for on a daily basis. This included giving medication to our youngest cat twice a day for a heart condition and Karen never missed a dose. She understands animals and humans on a deep level and will ensure both parties are content and worry free during your time away from your beloved pets. Highly recommend!
Karen is a real pet lover. Over several years she has looked after my two dogs and has given them much love and affection. I have known Karen for about 17 years, she is trustworthy,dependable and would be attentive to your pets needs.She will not just take care of your pets physical needs but is willing to spend time with them and give “pets” and cuddles when appropriate. My schedule is very flexible, allowing me to work around your small pet’s daily needs and rhythm as arranged by you (on a drop-in basis).

I wish to offer care exclusively in pets’ own homes as I know this is where many animals are most comfortable - & that such an arrangement can be difficult for their families to find, especially if medications need to be administered. I am very attentive to non-intrusively entering your home and your pet’s personal space, with careful attention to honouring personal and professional boundaries in ways that I hope will put both you and your pet at ease.
A typical day
Playing games with their favourite toys (as identified by them/their family), spending active time outside if their back yard is fenced, and offering ‘deluxe’ ear rubs & chin scratches if they like them. I am also happy to interact and convey affection from a distance for any animals that respond better to gentle voice tone and being given a lot of personal space as I provide necessary care and feeding.
