Availability
No strict routine here. I’m generally on a first shift-type schedule, but will adjust to your pet’s needs. I typically have groceries delivered to my vehicle weekly, and take dogs with me if they enjoy car rides.

Safety, trust & environment
Safe neighborhood. I have a .5 acre lot, but only the yard around my pool is fenced in (less than half the lot). Good safety latches on the gates; pool safety cover off-season. Dogs are discouraged away from the in-ground pool, but may use my kiddie pool. They will be supervised while outside. There will not be any other pets or children present during a meet & greet or trial visit, or while boarding or providing day care. Bi-level carpeted home. It has been marked, so if that’s a potential issue, please look elsewhere. 4-wheel drive Jeep, so snow is not likely an issue to get to or transport your fur babies. I carry PCI Pet Care Insurance.

Information Karen B. would like to know about your pet
I do my homework on your dog’s breed before we meet. Please leave written instructions, any rules, etc. on kitchen counter or in overnight bag (the Rover Meet & Greet guide has a good checklist). If you have multiple pets, label food, dishes, and anything else that is separate. Crates, beds, toys, etc. appreciated if used regularly, thanks!
A typical day
My neighborhood has paved streets - they will see and hear many other dogs, bicyclists, golf carts, and delivery drivers. I can still run mailbox to mailbox, but trying to save my knees for skiing. Also enjoy the local trails. Tennis, softball, basketball, fetch, frisbee, tug-of-war, chase, and wrestling are also popular at my house. You Tube videos played on TV for dogs with separation anxiety (unless they’re highly reactive to other dogs).

Pet care experience
Former federal employee and defense contractor (over 28 years)/deferred retirement. I've been boarding, house sitting, dropping in, walking, and running with dogs since COVID. I only accept one client at a time in my home, so I can provide personalized one-on-one care, including cats. Open to other types of animals, and/or duties as assigned (mail collection, plant and/or pool/spa care, garbage/recycling, snow clearing, etc.). Prices are adjustable, and willing to trade services for a handy person.
Cat care experience

Karen also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.
Reviews

Karen watched our dog for the first time while we were away on vacation. The booking was some what last minute as our family member who usually watches our dog was unavailable. It was a pleasant and easy experience. Karen took the time to make sure our dog was well cared for and provided a safe, clean environment. I highly recommend her and plan to refer her to anyone looking for a sitter for their dog. Words cannot express our appreciation!

Karen was amazing and was so sensitive to our special needs pup!!

Karen did amazing job taking care of my pup! Kept me update about his well being and really helped subside my anxiety about leaving him in a new environment for several days. He came home happy and healthy!!

Karen always does a great job! Our dogs love their time with her.
