Loving & Active Dog Care 🐾

I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels for most of my life, from helping friends and family to raising my own high-energy pup! I’m especially comfortable with active breeds and understand the importance of structure, routine, and mental stimulation—not just exercise. I take a thoughtful, attentive approach to every dog in my care, paying close attention to behavior, energy levels, and individual needs. Whether it’s reinforcing basic training, managing overstimulation, or just making sure your dog feels safe and comfortable, I aim to create a calm, consistent environment. My background in hospitality means I’m highly reliable, communicative, and detail-oriented. You can expect regular updates, photos, and the peace of mind that your dog is being genuinely cared for—not just watched.

Kara is the absolute best! We are use to her taking care of our dog but when we needed her for our cat she was perfect! So thankful to have her

Dog Walking • May 02, 2026

Kara has done such a great job walking our dog. She has even taken time in her walks/visits to work with getting our dog used to a new crate. 10/10 would recommend and we hope to have her back!

I cannot recommend Kara highly enough! She is incredibly trustworthy and has a natural gift for making animals feel safe and loved. Kara does exceptionally well with big dogs (my wife and I have a 70lb pit mix), handling their energy and size with ease, and she is equally skilled with anxious dogs (which our big dog also is). She has a calm, patient demeanor that helps even the most nervous pups settle in quickly. What truly sets Kara apart is that she treats every dog exactly like they are her own. She provides the kind of genuine care and attention that gives you total peace of mind while you're away. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust anyone more than her with my dog—she is simply the best!

Kara is truly one of the few people I fully trust to watch my dog. She is incredibly communicative and always keeps me updated, which gives me so much peace of mind. I tend to have a lot of requests and check-ins, and she handles all of them with patience and care without ever making me feel like I’m asking too much. She is reliable, consistent, and genuinely loves animals .You can tell she treats them like they’re her own. Knowing my dog is with Kara makes it so much easier to be away. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for someone dependable, attentive, and caring.

Schedule

I work from home doing consulting, which gives me a lot of flexibility to offer plenty of attention, potty breaks, and care for dogs staying in my home, as well as availability throughout the day for walks and drop-in visits around the North Shore. My GSP Milo is my constant work-from-home sidekick and is always happy to keep your pup company and play as much as they’d like! If your dog enjoys having a buddy, he can also join for walks or drop-in visits at your hose—but if they have more of preference for solo time, he’s more than happy to sit that one out.

Safety, trust & environment

Whether I’m hosting your dog, visiting your home, or taking them out for a walk, my goal is always the same: to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved—with a good dose of fun mixed in. I take a thoughtful, low-stress approach and pay close attention to each dog’s behavior, energy level, and boundaries. Introductions to new friends (furry or human!) are always done slowly and intentionally so everyone feels comfortable. I aim to keep a structured but relaxed environment that helps dogs settle in without becoming overwhelmed. I’m happy to follow any routines or preferences you have—whether that’s crate training, sleep setup, feeding guidelines, or walk style—and I always provide regular updates and photos so you know exactly how your dog is doing. Potty breaks are typically every 2 hours or so, and more frequently for puppies or senior dogs as needed. I’m also very active (running, hiking, getting outside whenever I can), so I’m always happy to give higher-energy dogs the exercise they need, while still making sure they have time to rest and reset. I’m comfortable administering medications or supplements as needed, and with a young pup at home, our space is already very dog-friendly—puppy-proofed, with gates available for separation if needed, plenty of toys, and multiple crate options to help every dog feel safe and settled.
