I’m a certified veterinary assistant and I currently work as a kennel attendant and pet care employee. I take classes at Reynolds community college and in high school, i was apart of the veterinarian science center. I have experience with all animals including cats, dogs, reptiles, rodents, ferrets, and amphibians. I foster animals and I take pride in what I do. I’m determined to break the stereotype that teens aren’t good workers. I’m not squeamish about poop, vomit, or bugs if you have a reptile in need of a snack! I currently have pets of my own including a bearded dragon, a dog, two rabbits, a hamster, hermit crabs and fish. If you have a dog who pulls on a leash, no need to worry I’m strong, and learned the proper techniques. If you have a cat or dog with separation anxiety, don’t worry. Any animal is welcome to sleep on my bed. Please ask any questions about your specific pets and I’ll be sure to get back to you.

Kara was absolutely amazing. I have a dog with seizures who I hadn’t left in anyone’s care for a year since he got the diagnosis. He was on a lot of medicines and I had a hard time trusting anyone to stay on top of his medication schedule. Kara did a phenomenal job. Not only did she stay on top of his medicines for 2 weeks (giving me a huge mental break from his care) but also truly loved him and spoiled him while I was gone. I didn’t expect her to form such a loving, close bond but it was obvious she pours her heart into this work. Kara is absolutely a great caregiver and you can rest easy your pet is getting the love and care it needs in her hands while you’re gone.
Kara has taken care of our pets for several weeks we totally trust Kara. Taking care of our babies is stress free!

I take online classes. I am free all weekdays and weekends. I do work some mornings during the weekend so let me know and i’ll clear my schedule for your pet!

Safety, trust & environment
If your pet is staying at my house, I’ll be sure to provide the proper care. Reach out to me and we can talk about your specific pets/species. If you have a dog he/she is more than welcome to sleep in my bed and I will provide walks in the morning and night. A meet and greet is required since I have a dog. My dog gets along with anyone but I’d like to see if they’ll be a good match. My family’s always home and your dog will never be alone. As for daily check ins, I’ll check on your pet at home and provide the proper care, including walks. If i’m staying at your house, I’m respectful to other people’s property. I understand what it’s like being away from your pet and I won’t shy away if you have cameras in your home.

A typical day
It depends on the specific pet. I love to go on walks/runs with dogs and I love to play tag, tug of war, and fetch with dogs. Any animal is welcome on my lap if they just want to relax.

- If you’re boarding at my house, a meet and greet is required since I have a dog and rabbits. I can work with aggressive animals, however I would feel more comfortable going to your house so your pet is still comfortable in the environment.
