I’m a stay at home mom, and I homeschool my children. So outside of hiking, park days, bike rides and adventuring, we’re home most of the time. When your dog is here, they just become a part of the family!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a big, fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run. We’re very active and we’re frequently out on walks or runs. We also hike a lot, so I can bring your dog to the mountains! I have four small children who love to wrestle, play, throw balls and chase! Your dog will be well loved in our home!

Information Kara C. would like to know about your pet
Your dog needs to be child friendly! I have 4 kids who are 7 and under including a baby. I want to make sure my kids will be safe. Potty/house trained is a must! If your dog is known to mark or have accidents, probably not a good fit. Sleeping quietly through the night is a must! We don’t do well with dogs that bark a lot, especially at night. Your dog will need the ability to occasionally be left home for up to 4 hours at a time. I take only 1-2 dogs at a time. I do my best to make sure dogs don’t get people food. Having small kids, though they are taught not to feed dogs, food occasionally gets left on the counter or dropped on the floor. We don’t eat processed foods, so not a lot of junk, but your dog may end up sneaking food dropped from the kids….especially if your dog is a counter surfer.
A typical day
We’re outside most of the day! Lots of trips to the river trail, short hikes close by and a lot of backyard work and play. We don’t spend much time inside! I walk every day for an hour, and can take your dog with me every day.

Active, outdoor family!
Pet care experience
I’ve cared for animals for a long time. We had a family dog growing up, and I lived on my grandpa’s farm several summers. We also care for our own chickens. We love animals and treat them with care and respect! I have food/water bowls, a dog bed, a couple of leashes, dog waste bags, treats and some toys here for your convenience!
Reviews

Kara took great care of my dog Peanut.

Kara is the best! Our dog loves to be with her and play with her kids! We have used her for a few years now, and love her personalized care toward us and our doggy.

I enjoyed our experience with Kara. She seems confident with dogs and provided a clean, fun, welcoming environment. We were able to see Pepper in her new environment before we left her there, which was reassuring to see she was going to be happy there. Thanks Kara!

Kara takes such good care of our dog. Kara has watched her several times and each time we come back our dog is so excited to see her family, which lets me know they are doing a great job. We are so grateful to Kara!
