It’s also helpful to know their daily routine, preferred activities, house rules (like furniture access or crate use), and emergency information such as vet contacts and backup caregivers. Having this information upfront ensures consistent care and helps me respond properly in any situation.
A typical day
For pet sitting, I like to keep pets active, happy, and mentally stimulated through activities tailored to their personality and energy level. For dogs, this can include walks, sniff exploration time, fetch, tug-of-war, park visits, and simple training games like practicing commands or “find it” treats. For cats, I focus on interactive play with wand toys or lasers, puzzle feeders, gentle grooming, and calm companionship time, along with enrichment like window watching or exploring new toys. The goal is to make sure they get both physical exercise and mental engagement while still feeling safe and comfortable in their routine.

Kami is great with dogs. I have witnessed how amazingly she cares for her own dog and how attentive she is to dog behavior. She’s also worked in the vet field so she’s adept at noticing the little things. She’s always been so sweet and caring to my own pets whenever she is around them. Throwing the ball for my dog anytime she is near him just because she wants to make him happy. I would trust her with my own pets because she is kind, caring, and does not ignore them no matter the situation.
Kami is trustworthy, responsible, respectful, and has great communication skills. Any time I’ve had her watch my pups I have always gotten constant updates, their schedule has been maintained as I have asked (which is huge for my dogs that require meds), and all our house safety rules are always followed completely. Having dogs who can’t be around each other in the same house can be quite complicated but Kami follows all my instructions and is never afraid to ask if she has any questions. I wouldn’t trust anyone else!
