Hi, I’m Kalyn! I live in Austin with my fiancé Steve and our Goldendoodle, Izzy. Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. We were a big doodle and dachshund family growing up, but I love all breeds. I’ve cared for dogs at every stage, from puppies to senior years, and I’m comfortable with multiple walks a day, frequent potty breaks, playtime, cuddling, and crate or no crate needs, whatever your pup needs. Pets are family, and I know how hard it is to leave them behind for work or travel. Having Izzy makes that even more true for me now. I’d love to give your pet the same care and attention I’d want for mine, and yes, you’ll get plenty of pictures and updates along the way!! I can not wait to hear more about your pup and offer them exceptional care!!

Kalyn D has always had and loved dogs! She takes excellent care of them. She is very protective and watches them closely. Their health and safety is very important to her. I recommend her care highly.
I have 3 rescues and they all have special needs. I needed someone to help me give medication to one of my dogs after surgery while I was at work. I was having trouble with my dog taking his medication and Kalyn suggested using a miniature marshmallow instead of cheese. He absolutely loved it! She took a super stressful thing and turned it into a fun treat! I asked Kalyn to take care of my dogs when I had to travel for work and I knew they would be in good hands while I was gone. I got updates and pictures and never worried once.

Schedule
Pet care fits into my everyday life, not just my schedule. I work remotely and I’m a huge dog lover, so I’m home and available throughout the day. If the weather’s nice, we’re outside playing and getting fresh air and exercise. When it’s too hot, we move indoors and I keep things stimulating with puzzle toys, bones, and pupsicles to beat the heat — plus plenty of calm cuddle time so it’s not nonstop go-go-go. Whatever your pup needs, high energy play or low-key love, I can accommodate both. My own dog Izzy keeps me on a consistent routine, so feeding times, potty breaks, and playtime are already built into my day, I just fold your pup right in.

For boarding, your pup becomes a pampered guest in my home, they’ll get all the love and care they need for their stay. I follow your pup’s normal routine as closely as possible, from feeding times to potty breaks to their usual walk or playtime schedule, so their stay feels as close to home as possible. For drop-ins, it’s the same philosophy on a shorter visit. I stick to your pup’s normal routine, making sure they get fed, let out, and some love and attention before I head out.

A typical day
There’s a park near our house we love!! We’ll head there early mornings in the summer, if it’s cool enough, or whenever the weather is nice. We’re also always outside in our backyard playing catch. It’s a pretty big fenced in yard, so there’s plenty of room to run. Indoors, we do playtime with toys, enrichment activities, and lots of snuggling. We also love car rides! Sometimes it’s just a quick drive around the block so our dog Izzy can sniff out the window, other times she tags along for errands like grocery runs, the hardware store, or picking up food.

- Before a stay, I like to know your pup’s feeding schedule and any food allergies or dietary needs, their potty break routine, and any commands or cues they respond to. It’s also helpful to know their energy level and play style, how they do with other dogs (since Izzy will likely be around), any anxiety triggers or things that stress them out, and any medications or health conditions I should be aware of. Basically anything that helps me keep their routine as close to normal as possible!
