Kalei is absolutely phenomenal. I have an elderly chihuahua who doesn’t like most people, but somehow, she won him over! She was so kind and patient with him, and before long, he adored her. Knowing she’s worked in a veterinary clinic nearby gave me huge peace of mind too — she really knows what she’s doing. She sent regular updates and photos, asked smart questions, and paid attention to every little detail. I could tell she genuinely cared about Dublin and wanted him to be happy and comfortable. Then, while I was out of the country, a water leak happened in my house. Kalei updated me right away and took the initiative to moved things to keep them safe, she took Dublin with her so he’d be out of harm’s way while plumbers handled the mess. She didn’t have to go that far, but she did, and I’ll never forget that. I felt a million times better knowing I had such a great caretaker there for my dog and my home. It’s hard to find someone as thoughtful, trustworthy, and capable as Kalei. She’s got the perfect mix of heart, common sense, and experience. I honestly can't think of anyone I would trust more with my mean old crunchy dog, Dublin!

Kalei is my oldest Granddaughter; however, I don't want you to think this review is because she is related. My husband used to raise and show English Mastiffs before we were married. We have both always been "dog" people. With that, we also understand the need to properly train a dog. We have been together 30 years and have always had dogs; my children and grandchildren were always around them, and we taught them how to care for dogs. When we got our current dogs, Kalei was only 16. Our dogs are littermates but were very much alpha pups. In fact, we adopted the 1st one, and 9 months later, his brother was returned to the shelter because he was deemed "aggressive." Kalei spent a lot of time with us and trained with us. She learned the importance of consistency without harming. She endured a few scratches and minor bites during that time, but always stayed calm and consistent and never got angry. She walked them, played with them, taught them how to sit, how to take food nicely without grabbing, and earned their respect. When Kalei was 18 she moved in with us and she and the boys were best of friends. Our boys will still try to be alpha boys if they are allowed and Kalei was able to play with them and still control the boundaries. She has always loved all animals, I speak only of dogs because that is what we have. She has a genuine love for animals and works so well with them. Her experience working in a veterinary clinic has furthered her knowledge and love for animals. She and her husband have their own cat, if they lived where she could have more, I guarantee she would have a variety of animals. She has dog sat for us as well as other family members and various friends and all the animals love her. Bringing Kalei on to Rover will be a huge asset for Rover and you will see requests for her service increase.
