Once again Kala exceeded expectations and took great care of Daizy. Each day she sent daily activity recaps, photos, and videos. Daizy looks so happy while she is there and always comes home happy and healthy!

Once again, Kala did a great job with Daizy. We received awesome updates and pictures and Daisy came home happy and healthy.!

Kala has been amazing so far with my dog, Dino: extremely communicative, calm, and considerate. She writes detailed summaries of her visits and gives full transparency for interactions with Dino that has a history of fear-based aggression -- even providing videos. Looking forward to continuing to work with her!

I would give Kala 10 stars if I could! She was absolutely amazing with our dog Daizy again. She was able to deal with all of the issues that come along with an older dog including multiple meds and special food and treats, She sent us comprehensive updates about Daizy’s activities including pictures and videos. It is so easy to leave our dog in her care and Daizy came home happy and freshly bathed!

We unfortunately had a very concerning experience with Kala for the weekend-long house-sitting stay we booked with her for our two large dogs in our home. Within hours of starting the booking, she attempted to cut the stay short due to a situation involving someone in her partner’s family and suggested replacing the agreed-upon overnight stay with simple “meal drop-ins.” We have dogs, not cats, and that is not appropriate dog care, which showed a concerning lack of judgment right away. Her communication throughout the stay was erratic. It swung between long, panicked messages about completely normal dog behaviors and then total silence for an entire day, with no updates unless we reached out first, and when she did respond after a day of silence with a two-word dismissive response, it felt like she had been intentionally withholding updates out of spite. She also left earlier than scheduled without explanation. She repeatedly treated very normal canine behaviors as problematic - most notably her reactions to basic tug-of-war play between our two large dogs. At one point, after being told not to punish one dog for a mutual game of tug-of-war, she sent a video of their tug-of-war with a noticeably snotty tone around how fine, she’d be leaving them alone then - which was genuinely strange because the behavior she captured was literally very normal large dog tug-of-war play over a toy that both dogs were clearly mutually engaged in. Every Rover sitter who has watched our two dogs previously (and love them - unfortunately our two main go-tos were already booked this weekend, hence trying Kala) has never once raised concern around their play, so the level of overwhelm she kept expressing was surprising and inconsistent with our dogs’ actual temperament. There were also a few minor issues regarding respect for our home. They were small but telling examples of disregard for the space she was trusted in. At one point when I needed to give her direct (but calm and clear) feedback about my concerns, she then later recalled a version of that conversation that was factually incorrect - something I was able to verify with witnesses who were present with me at the time - which further eroded trust. By the end of the stay, we found ourselves counting down the hours until she left, which is the opposite of what any pet owner should feel during a booking. Based on our experience, we wouldn’t recommend her for anyone needing level-headed dog care.

Kala was awesome! She kept us updated the whole time and sent the cutest pictures of Alvin. He clearly loved hanging out with her and was super happy when we got home. We’ll definitely have Kala watch him again next time!
