I'd love to know about your pet's routine, quirks, and any specific needs. For dogs, it helps to know their leash behavior and how they do around other animals and strangers. For cats, it helps to know their hiding spots, litter preferences, and whether they're more food-motivated or affection-driven. The more I know going in, the better I can care for your pet the way you would.
A typical day
Every drop-in or walk starts by letting your dog or cat settle in on their own terms — I check in on food, water, and any medications if needed, and spend the rest of the time engaging with them. For dogs, that means a walk or outdoor time plus some play or calm companionship depending on their vibe — I don't rush visits. I can also take your pup(s) running or hiking for an additional fee on the weekends! For cats, I'll do interactive play if they're into it, or just hang out with the ones who'd rather observe from a distance. Every visit ends with updates so you always know how things went.

I'm a life-long dog owner and have had cats much of my life. Years of volunteering at animal shelters has given me real, hands-on confidence with all kinds of animals and temperaments, from reactive or nervous/anxious ones who need a calm, patient hand, to high-energy working breeds. I also have advanced training for working with dogs with behavior challenges, training protocols, dog and cat body language, and I am currently in the process of getting certified in pet first aid and CPR. I'm comfortable administering medication, managing mobility limitations, special needs, and the kind of quirks that make pet parents nervous to leave instructions for a new sitter. I’m also experienced in reinforcement-based training as well as walking/training tools (halti, prong, e-collar). No matter the animal (even birds, fish or others), the basics stay the same: sticking to their routine, and sending updates and check-ins so you're never wondering how things are going. Your pet is in calm, capable hands.

Kal was great! She came and got the dogs from our hotel which was a huge help. She did a good job walking them and feeding them for us. She worked with our schedule to meet up prior to her coming to take them out. I highly recommend Kal!
Kal was great with our 12 yr old dog, Rocky. Kal made herself available for our last minute needs, sent lots of beautiful photos and was very communicative. She made sure to follow Rocky’s routine and went above and beyond to make sure he went potty before going to bed and after breakfast. Rocky threw up a little bit and she made sure to clean it up. Kal stayed at our apartment with our two dogs while we were traveling. She provided outstanding, thorough care, and detailed updates throughout the stay which gave us constant peace of mind that our boys were happy and safe.
