Safety, trust & environment

For walks and drop-ins, I keep things low-key: familiar environment, familiar routine, minimal disruption to their day. For house sitting, I stay in your home and keep your pet's routine exactly as you left it. I treat your space with the same care I'd want someone to treat mine. Got a weird routine, like needing to fake a 5-star meal, or finding the perfect blade of grass for a potty break? Tell me about it, I'll make it happen. Across both, I send photo updates throughout so you always know how things are going.

Information Kal G. would like to know about your pet

I'd love to know about your pet's routine, quirks, and any specific needs — medications, allergies, and/or dietary restrictions. For dogs, it helps to know their leash behavior and how they do around other animals and strangers. For cats, it helps to know their hiding spots, litter preferences, and whether they're more food-motivated or affection-motivated when it comes to coaxing them out. The more I know going in, the better I can care for your pet the way you would.

A typical day

Every drop-in or walk starts by letting the pet settle in on their own terms — I check in on food, water, and any medications if needed, and spend the rest of the time engaging with them. For dogs, that means a walk or outdoor time plus some play or calm companionship depending on their vibe. I don't rush visits. Senior dogs get a slower pace and extra patience; high-energy dogs get a real outlet. For cats, I'll do interactive play if they're into it, or just hang out with the ones who'd rather observe from a distance. Every visit ends with a photo update so you always know how things went.

Pet care experience

I'm a life-long dog owner and have had cats much of my life. Years of volunteering at animal shelters has given me real, hands-on confidence with all kinds of animals and temperaments, including the reactive and anxious ones who need a calm, patient hand. I'm comfortable administering medication, managing mobility limitations, special needs, and the kind of quirks that make pet parents nervous to leave instructions for a new sitter. I also have advanced training for working with dogs with behavior challenges, training protocols, and dog and cat body language. No matter the animal, the basics stay the same: sticking to their routine, and sending photo updates and check-ins so you're never wondering how things are going. Your pet is in calm, capable hands.

I volunteer with Kal at the animal shelter. She is a beloved and skilled member of our dog walking community. I would recommend Kal to any family looking for pet sitting services. She will treat your babies like her own.

Kal is fantastic! I have a hard time letting anyone care for my two corgis outside of immediate family, especially after one went through treatment and recovery for a brain tumor, but I absolutely trust her. My dogs adore her. She is so caring, thoughtful, and goes above and beyond. She is also extremely knowledgeable and diligent with care. I could not recommend her enough!

Kal is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated. She takes the time to truly get to know each pet, tailoring her care to their individual needs. Drawing on her extensive experience working with shelter animals, she provides thoughtful, compassionate care and guidance for both pets and their owners. Her genuine love for animals shines through in everything she does, and it’s clear she’s passionate about making a positive difference.
