Kaitlyn can care for
Availability
I'm a full-time pet care provider. During house-sits I stay overnight (and any time spent away during the day will be minimal-- I'm a total homebody, so most days, I'm quite happy not to go anywhere!) If your pet(s) shouldn't be left alone at all and you'd prefer a sitter that can commit to 'round the clock presence, I also offer constant care services.

Safety, trust & environment
I will diligently follow any guidelines given; your pet's comfort and your peace-of-mind are my top priorities. I know it isn't an easy thing to trust a stranger with your home and your pet, and I don't take it lightly! I'll send photos and any pertinent updates while you're away; my typical stance is 'no news is good news' and I stick to general daily updates in the absence of questions or concerns (and tend to send photos with less-frequent updates for repeat sits,) but if you want specific or more frequent updates, please let me know what would make you most comfortable!
Information Kaitlyn N. would like to know about your pet
Either in your initial request or during our meet-and-greet, tell me about the typical day-to-day routines I should stick to. I also like to know about any quirks I should know are normal for the pet (not cause for concern that they're behaving strangely due to separation anxiety,) as well as any known 'risk factors' (allergies, reactivity triggers, any sensitive spots they might not take kindly tohaving touched, etc.) If your pet has any common hiding spots or sneaky 'mess zones' I might need to periodically check, let me know this too... I'd love to know anything you can think of that might be helpful in setting us up for a stellar stay! Please make sure that there is up-to-date emergency contact and vet info listed in your profile-- though we both hope I'll never need this, it's important that it's readily available just in case.
A typical day
I'll try to base my time with your pet around what they're accustomed to, and what they seem to be craving at the time (scratches or snuggles? I'll gladly oblige! Fetch or tug-of-war? I'll play along until one of us is tuckered out. Just wanna chill and be left alone for awhile? I get it!) I think pets are incredibly intelligent; they're sentient creatures with their own thoughts and emotions. I've been blown away by some interactions I've had with them, so I talk to them presuming competence-- I believe they appreciate this a lot and trust me more for it, and I've even seen unwanted behaviors change as a result of it!

Pet care experience
A bit of a disclaimer: I'm a neurodivergent introvert, and you may note when we meet that I'm a socially-anxious, slightly 'odd duck,' but while I struggle somewhat with people skills I tend to bond with animals quickly (I suspect that many of them take that odd 'duck' part of me for some level of kinship. 😉) I've cared for dogs and cats of varying sizes, ages and temperaments, as well as rabbits, small rodents, reptiles/amphibians, and fish. I adore them all! Currently, I have a gold dust day gecko named Aloha, but I have been 'mama' to a variety of animals throughout my life (and have found in the time I've been petsitting professionally that I enjoy being 'pet auntie' almost as much.) My goal is to be such good company for your pet(s) that while they'll certainly be glad to see you when you get back, they won't spend any time wistfully pining for you while you're away... You get a vacation, they get a staycation with a loving friend!

Reviews

Kaitlyn provided great care of my 2 dogs and cat during a recent overnight stay. My crew was happy and relaxed when I got home and my house was left tidy.
Kaitlyn did an outstanding job! My dog and cat both loved her, her updates were timely and thorough, and she anticipated some things I would personally need. I could not have been more pleased. Will definitely call her again!! Highly recommend.

Kaitlyn took great care of our senior dog, two cats, and our home. She kept us updated and had very open communication. Our house was in great shape when we got home—you’d never know she was here except for the happy pets! We will definitely rebook her!

Kaitlyn was amazing! She came over and met our pup beforehand and he got to know her. We did 3 drop in visits and it worked out perfectly for our weekend getaway. Communication was excellent - she updated us with pictures and really made us feel that our pup was safe and secure. Can’t wait to book her for our next getaway! Thank you again!
