🐾IN MY HOME (boarding):🐾 (See "IN YOUR HOME" section below for housesitting. Boarding is dogs only. If you have other kinds of pets, please choose housesitting. Thank you!) My house is pretty well "dog-proofed" and oriented in a way that I am able to keep a close eye on pets from just about anywhere! So your pup gets to be the king of the castle, with lots of room inside & outside to run and play. Not to mention the mountain of toys.... When I cannot monitor them, they'll get to chill in a cozy crate or pen, with fresh water always available and a chew toy, puzzle, or snack to keep them entertained. For walks and other adventures, I will always keep your dog leashed and close to me. I love to take dogs out on excursions to parks, trails, and other such places! Of course, I will always check with you first to make sure that we don't go somewhere your dog doesn't enjoy. I have three adult dogs (all ~45lbs) and a cat in my home. The cat is dog-friendly, but also is able to be kept entirely separate from your dog if needed. My dogs are all 100% dog-friendly, have good play manners, and are also able to be neutral around/ignore other dogs when told. They are very patient with young puppies as well! And if your pup isn't one for new friends, don't worry - they can be kept totally separate on request, and your dog will still get plenty of one-on-one playtime & snuggles with me. It is 100% up to you if your pup has any interaction with other dogs (or the cat). Full separation is possible, but if you'd like your dog to make some furry friends, I am happy to safely facilitate that! All interactions between your dog and other pets will be of limited time and monitored - the dogs will never be alone together. For safety and management reasons, I cannot accept boarding bookings for dogs that are not able to be comfortable in a crate (or pen, for small dogs only). Have other questions or concerns? A typical day
I take a non-traditional approach to doggy daycare. Instead of only providing exercise in the form of unstructured playtime with strange dogs, pups are enriched with a variety of activities that strengthen their bodies & brains. This can look like learning to run on a treadmill, trying out agility obstacles, practicing obedience, playing frisbee, getting snacks through solving puzzles, adventuring in the park, or any number of other fun and unique activities.

Nice to meet you, I'm Kat! I have been working in the pet industry since early 2019 - beginning as a kennel attendant, evolving into a professional dog trainer in two prominent KC training facilities, and now running my own small business in Overland Park. I am thoroughly versed in canine care and communication, and use my expertise to help every dog that stays with me have a comfortable and positive experience. Not only that, but I am also very knowledgeable in canine enrichment and stimulation. Have a high-energy, high-needs breed? They'll end their days with me happy and tired. A senior dog that has special needs and benefits from therapeutic stretches? Say no more. Puppies are absolutely welcome as well, and will have many opportunities to practice socialization, building confidence, and manners. My experience also means that I am able to care for dogs with behavioural issues and special health needs. Kat has been training me and my dog Bo for over two years. I got Bo as a rescue when he was about 9 months old with little to no training. Kat has made Bo and me a wonderful pair. Without Kat, Bo and I would be lost. She is so knowlebgeable about how to care for and work with dogs and their owners. She is patient, kind and very clear in her communications with how to work with your dog. I couldn't recommend her more highly. She was a life safer for me and Bo. We still work with her on learning new skills and Bo loves being with her for daycare or boarding. I know that you will absolutely be thrilled to have her as your pets care giver and trainer!!!!
To start, my husband and I have been taking our dog, Sega, a standard dachshund, to Kat for almost a year. Ever since the beginning she's been great at communicating, working with, training, and giving care for her with amazing results. Our little doxie is a rambunctious girl with tons of energy and a love for food, but there have always been ways that Kat has taught us to work with her on our own time, in our own home and we're forever grateful. She takes her for walks, works on engagement, and even socialization skills. Sega is particularly fond of the snuggles she receives as well! We can't recommend her enough and even Sega knows when we're about to drop her off as she gets her excited spins! Many thanks to her for always being understanding and accommodating.
Kat is wonderful with dogs! She watched my boy, Onyx, for a week while I visited my grandparents. She sent me lot's of updates of their activities together and even taught Onyx to catch a frisbee! I loved that he got a lot of attention while he was in her care and that when I picked him up he was happy and ready for a nap after getting his exercise for the day.
