Availability
Providing pet service is my main job, as I own a Chicago-based pet services company. That said, please book early! My schedule fills up incredibly quickly. Also, please understand that although my calendar shows availability, I may not be available at the exact time you want. If you don't have any flexibility in your booking times, I may not have your desired times available at the last minute.

Safety, trust & environment
I am CPR-certified at the Basic and Advanced levels through the RECOVER Initiative (the only veterinary CPR program recognized by the American College of Veterinary Emergency Critical Care and the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium). I am also Fear Free Certified and work to lower the FAS of all animals in my care. Because I have six cats and a dog, I don't offer services in my home. For dog socialization, we will meet at a safe location for the dogs to interact. Training typically takes place at the client's home. If we plan to train in another environment, we will arrange it in advance to ensure safety. For in-home care, I can come on a schedule we agree on ahead of time to ensure the pets get enough exercise and human interaction. I'll also ensure their health and wellness needs are met.
Information Kaitlyn K. would like to know about your pet
I have the most experience handling very reactive (and aggressive) dogs, but please let me know ahead of time if your dog is reactive so that I can best prepare for meeting them. While getting to know a dog, it's best if they wear a muzzle if they don't like new people, to keep both the dog and me safe. If you haven't muzzle-trained your dog, I can also help with this. Additionally, I can administer medication. Please leave a note detailing the medication to be given, the amount, and the frequency.
A typical day
I love going for walks, so I will always ensure your dog gets an appropriate amount of time to walk on a leash, based on their energy level and needs. I also have experience with off-leash training, so I can teach your dog to walk off-leash if that's what you want. I like to explore new walking routes, which your dog will also enjoy. I'll play your dog's favorite game with them, whether it's fetch or engaging in a doggie puzzle.

Quick Facts About Kaitlyn: - Fear Free Certified - CPR Certified at the Basic and Advanced Levels (RECOVER Initiative) - Training Cesar's Way Dog Behavior and Psychology Fundamentals 1 Completed Fall 2025 - Training Cesar's Way Dog Behavior and Psychology Fundamentals 2 Spring 2026 - Reactive/Aggressive Dog Expert - Full-time pet care service provider and dog trainer - Owner of a Chicago-based pet services company Animals have been a constant in my life—from household pets to farm animals—but my true passion for professional pet care began over a decade ago when I rescued my first cat. Since then, I’ve cared for dozens of cats and raised my own incredible Great Dane, building a deep, hands-on understanding of animal behavior, care, and trust. I spent nearly a decade living throughout Asia, where I immersed myself in diverse animal communities and care environments. After rescuing my Great Dane in Sri Lanka, I became actively involved in structured dog training, working alongside a community group dedicated to training and socializing dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. Over the past six years, I’ve specialized in working with dogs on reactivity, socialization, and leash manners. I have extensive experience handling highly reactive and aggressive dogs with confidence and care, while also providing exceptional support for well-adjusted companions. My approach is rooted in calm leadership, consistency, and creating positive, enriching experiences—because I truly believe a walk should be the highlight of your dog’s day. In addition to behavioral work, I bring a high level of competency in managing pets with medical needs. I’m comfortable administering oral medications, topical treatments, and subcutaneous fluids with ease and compassion. I have hands-on experience supporting pets with: - Diabetes (including confident insulin administration—even with sensitive pets) - Deafness - Fanconi Syndrome (a rare kidney condition) - Gastrointestinal conditions (IBS, etc.) - Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) - Heart conditions (including murmurs) - Thyroid disorders Your pet’s safety, well-being, and happiness are always my top priorities—and I bring both professional skill and genuine care to every visit.

Reviews

Kaitlyn is fantastic! We have booked her several times for a week or more when we have left the country, and will absolutely book her again. She has made us feel completely at ease, and has taken excellent care of our animal family!

Kaity is a total pro! We were especially impressed with her effortless ability to administer meds to our kitty and with her attention to detail overall! We could totally relax while traveling knowing our cats were in her care.

Love working with Kaitlyn! She’s always so professional and leaves the best updates about our cats while we’re gone :)

Kaitlyn is excellent and always cares for Vivian so well, I look forward to her updates and photos and it gives me peace of mind knowing she is in such good hands while I am away.
