For walks, I always keep a close eye on the surroundings to make sure your dog stays safe while still enjoying their time outside. I stick to well-lit areas if it’s dark, avoid things like unknown plants, trash, or unsafe surfaces, and give your dog plenty of chances to explore in a safe way. When it comes to other dogs, I let your pet set the pace. If they’re friendly and you’re comfortable with it, I’ll allow calm, positive interactions, but I never force introductions and always prioritize safety first. For drop-ins, I treat your home with the same respect I would my own. I do my best to follow your pet’s usual routine and keep the environment stress-free so they feel safe and comfortable while I’m there. I also double-check that doors and windows are closed and locked before I leave, and make sure there aren’t any accessible hazards like unsafe foods or items your pet might try to chew on.

A typical day
I want to make sure your dog is exercising their body and mind. We will explore the neighborhood on walks and visit your dog's favorite spots, if they have any. Depending on their needs and abilities, we will also vary the pace of the walk and/or stop by a park for additional exploration.

Hi, I’m Kaitlyn! I’ve been caring for dogs and cats of friends and family for about 13 years, and it's something I absolutely love. I first began doing drop-in visits and dog walking when I was in high school, and over the years I've provided in-home pet sitting while friends are away on vacation and during the holidays. As a current grad student looking for extra income, I'm excited to put my passion for animals to good use. I adore dogs of all ages, sizes, and abilities, but I have a special soft spot for senior dogs and am more than happy to provide a slower pace and extra attention. I've also cared for pets during tough times, including dogs who had just lost a pet parent. I understand how important it is to be patient, gentle, and consistent during those moments, both with the pet and the owner. People often tell me their dogs seem especially relaxed around me. I've always had a calming effect on animals, and I’ll do everything I can to make sure your pet feels happy, cared for, and comfortable while they’re with me.

Kaitlyn is my go-to person for walking my dog Louie. She is so kind and patient with all animals. Even my moody cat Waffles comes out to see her. Kaitlyn is timely and easy to communicate with. She knows what she’s doing. I consider her a great friend that I trust with my pets!

Kaitlyn has been my dog sitter for about 5 years. Shes’s super knowledgeable, always prepared, and great at updating me on how my dog is doing. I find her very dependable and feel secure whenever she’s watching my dog. My dog doesn’t really like humans but seemed to gravitate toward Kaitlyn almost immediately.
