I'm a lifelong dog lover with hands-on experience caring for my own two dogs, which has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding each dog's unique personality. With my second dog especially, I took an active role in training and behavior development, learning how to use positive reinforcement and establish routines that help dogs feel secure and happy. I regularly help friends by providing midday potty breaks and companionship for their dogs when they're at work or traveling. This has given me experience with different breeds, temperaments, and household routines. I understand how important it is to follow each pet's specific schedule, respect house rules, and provide the attention and exercise they're used to. I know that every dog is different - some need lots of playtime and stimulation, while others prefer quiet companionship. I'm comfortable with basic commands, can recognize signs of stress or discomfort, and always prioritize the pet's safety and well-being above all else.

During pet check-ins, I focus on making sure each animal gets the individual attention and care they need. I always let dogs spend as much time outside as they want - whether that's a quick potty break or a longer play session in the yard. I pay attention to their energy level and preferences that day. I believe quality time is just as important as meeting basic needs, so I make sure to engage with each pet through play, cuddles, or simply keeping them company. For more active dogs, I'm happy to take them on short walks during my visit to give them extra exercise and mental stimulation. I follow the specific instructions and routines that pet parents provide, but I also adapt to what the pet seems to need in the moment. Some days they might want to play fetch, other days they just want someone to sit with them. I always make sure they have fresh water, food if needed, and that they seem comfortable and content before I leave. I provide updates to pet parents so they know how their furry family member is doing, including any highlights from our time together.

Kaitlyn was very responsible and good with Shay. She listened well to her specific needs and responded appropriately. I also had her for house sitting and she took care of plants and bird feeders in addition to my dog. An emergency came up and Kaitlyn was extremely helpful. I would ask for her again.

I currently work part-time, which gives me excellent flexibility for pet care services. I'm available every weekday after 3pm and have full availability on weekends. This schedule works perfectly for dog walks, evening pet visits, and weekend pet sitting when families are traveling. My part-time work arrangement means I can be consistent and reliable with your pet's routine. Whether you need daily walks, midday check-ins, or weekend care, I can accommodate regular schedules and provide the consistency that pets thrive on. I'm also available for last-minute requests when my schedule allows. I understand that pets need care even when their families are working full days, and my afternoon and weekend availability is ideal for busy pet parents who want to ensure their furry family members get attention and exercise while they're away.

I always ask about their daily routine - feeding schedule, favorite spots to go potty, usual walk times, and bedtime habits. Keeping their normal routine helps them feel secure while their family is away. I want to know about their temperament and preferences: Are they social with strangers or do they need time to warm up? Do they have any fears or triggers I should be aware of? What are their favorite games or ways to be comforted? This helps me build trust with them more quickly. For safety, I need to know about any medical needs, medications, dietary restrictions, or behavioral quirks. I also ask for emergency contact information, their vet's details, and any house rules or off-limits areas. Finally, I love hearing the little details that make each pet special - their favorite toys, funny habits, or the best way to make them feel loved. The more I know about what makes them happy and comfortable, the better I can care for them while you're away.
