Though I do live in an apartment, it is a gated community with a dog park and plenty of walking space in the complex. My miniature dachshund loves all other pets and would love to keep them company and have someone to play with. Any elderly pets are given space to rest and relax, but also given so much love. Treats are always available and I have no problem with animals on the furniture. When checking on your pets in your home, I will grab their favorite toy to play, give them treats (as permitted), and make sure they get plenty of cuddles and play time. And of course, a good walk to stretch their legs, or a romp in the yard (if available).

Information Kaitlyn B. would like to know about your pet
DOGS: 1. Any allergies or dietary requirements? 2. How often do they need to be walked? I normally take pets out 3-4 times a day in 5-6 hour intervals starting at 7am. If they are used to pottying in the yard only, are extreme pullers, or need to be taken out more often, I would not be a good fit. 3. Are they okay with stairs? I have about 14 steps that go up into my apartment. 4. Feeding schedule and amount? 5. Treats allowed? 6. Do they tend to destroy toys? 7. Are they allowed on the furniture? 8. Do they need to be crated at night and/or while I'm away on errands? 9. If they exhibit any bad behavior, what do you normally do to correct it? Such as certain words (no, bad, etc) or actions (clapping, snapping, etc). Physical punishment is never acceptable here. 10. I require a meet and greet prior to booking. What is the best date and time to meet? All meet and greets are done at my apartment to be sure they are comfortable here Please know that I have my own dog and 2 cats. The cats will mostly keep to themselves, and Harley is a sweet girl who loves making new friends. I only host 2 additional animals at a time Required items to bring: Food Food Bowl Any medications I have lots of toys, treats, pet beds, and a large crate (meant for dogs up to 100 lbs) if needed. You are welcome to bring anything to help them feel more comfortable! CATS: 1. Are there any allergies I should be aware of? 2. Feeding schedule? 3. Treats allowed? Please know that I have a dog and two cats of my own. If they do not do well with other animals, I would not be the best fit. I host 2 additional animals per day Required items to bring: Food Food Bowl Any medications I have litter boxes here they are able to use, cat toys and treats, and scratching post/tree. You are welcome to bring anything to help them feel more comfortable!
A typical day
During the work week, I normally wake up around 7am. This is when I'll take your pup out to potty and then get them their breakfast (if part of their feeding schedule). Then I'll be working until around lunch time. I have plenty of toys to keep your pup entertained while I work, but I do take breaks to give them cuddles and play. Around noon, I'll go on lunch and take them for a small walk to do their business, play a bit, and then head back to work. Once work is done (around 5pm) I'll take them for a larger walk around the complex and then get them their dinner (if part of their feeding schedule). I usually put water bowls and food bowls up at 7pm. Then at 8:30pm, I'll take them out once more before bed. They are welcome to sleep with me, or I have pet beds and the couch if they prefer. And, if wanted by you, I can crate your pet at night if needed. Treats are normally given for good behavior or at bed time. During weekends, I like to play with the dogs at the park or the pet friendly beaches (weather permitting), and they are taken out regularly throughout the day and played with often. For cats, I really just let them do what they want. I have a giant cat tree for use, and windowsill cat perches for them to sunbathe. They also have their own space gated off from any pups, and a loft upstairs where no pups can access unless permitted. Cat toys are abundant, as well as the cat treats.

Pet care experience
I have taken care of animals since I was young. I love and adore animals of all shapes and sizes. I have pet sit dogs in my neighborhood, walked them, and taken care of my own dogs. I would give them their baths, treats, and trim nails. I have additional experience training and raising puppies as well. Cats have always loved being around me and have always trusted me. Senior dogs are always made sure to be kept comfortable. I also have stairs for the couch and bed for the use by any little dogs, and puppy gates for the stairs in my apartment so no one can use them without being watched. I have a loft area for any cats that stay here and need extra space from any of the pups. I work from home, so I can be with them pretty much 24/7. I have raised my Dachshund from a puppy. She has been socialized well, so she gets along with everyone, small and big dogs alike (and cats!) My girls are spoiled, so your furbabies will be, too!

Reviews

Kaitlyn was incredibly accommodating and took our puppy last minute. She sent pictures and he was happy when he came home.

Kaitlin took great care of my pup and was able to accommodate me last minute. Would definitely recommend her for pet sitting.
