Experienced Veterinary Technician

As a veterinary technician with 13 years of hands-on clinical experience, I offer a level of care, knowledge, and attention to detail that goes far beyond typical pet sitting. I’m trained to recognize early signs of illness, administer medications, and handle pets safely and confidently in any situation—giving you true peace of mind while you’re away. I’m a lifelong dog lover and have owned breeds including Labrador Retrievers, Miniature Pinschers, Shepherds, Chihuahuas, and French Bulldogs. I also work with animals every day, caring for a wide variety of dogs, cats, farm animals, and even reptiles, which has made me comfortable with pets of all temperaments and needs. I offer flexible availability for boarding, dog walking, doggy daycare, and overnight stays. I live in a house with plenty of space, plus access to multiple large grassy areas for exercise and play. I’m also near several dog parks for added enrichment, if that’s something you’d like for your pup. Whether your pet is young, energetic, anxious, or requires special medical care, I’m fully equipped to provide safe, attentive, and compassionate care tailored to their needs. If you’re looking for someone experienced, reliable, and medically knowledgeable to care for your pet, I’d love to be your go-to sitter!

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs, routine, and personality to make sure they feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible—whether they’re in my home or their own. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. I maintain a structured routine that includes regular potty breaks, feeding schedules, exercise, and plenty of attention and affection. I provide a calm, clean, and safe environment with close supervision at all times. I’m mindful of each dog’s energy level and temperament, and I can separate pets if needed to ensure everyone feels comfortable. With my veterinary technician background, I’m also experienced in administering medications and monitoring for any changes in behavior or health. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping your pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible. This includes feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. I respect your home and your pet’s space, while making sure they receive the same level of care, attention, and monitoring they would get from you. I also provide updates so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. My goal in any setting is to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care so both you and your pet feel completely at ease.

Amazing! Kaitlin watched my puppy Karl for a weekend. It was his first time being away from us, and she really made us feel comfortable with her updates and pictures and videos! You could tell how much fun Karl had and he made a great new puppy friend too! Thanks Kaitlin!

Kaitlin H. Did a fantastic job with my cats. When my one cat who's not very friendly warmed up to her so quickly during the meet and greet, I knew they wolid be in good hands. And I was right. Kaitlin gave regular updates and daily pictures. She was comfortable giving medicine and had no problem cleaning the litter box, every cat owner's least favorite task. I felt comfortable with her, and so did my cats. I will definitely hire her again next time I'm out of town.

Schedule

Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine. As a veterinary technician, I spend my days caring for animals, so transitioning into pet sitting, walking, or boarding fits seamlessly into my lifestyle. Providing attentive, hands-on care isn’t something I “add on”—it’s what I do every day. On a typical day, I plan my schedule to ensure pets in my care receive consistent potty breaks, exercise, feeding, and attention. Before and after work, I prioritize walks, playtime, and check-ins, and I’m able to accommodate midday visits or breaks as needed. When boarding, pets are part of my home routine, with plenty of supervision, structure, and affection throughout the day and evening. On my days off, I have even more flexibility for longer walks, dog park visits, and extended quality time. Because of my experience, I’m also comfortable incorporating medications, special feeding routines, or extra monitoring into my schedule if needed.

Before caring for any pet, I like to gather as much information as possible to ensure I provide the safest and most comfortable experience for them. Important things I ask about include your pet’s daily routine (feeding schedule, potty habits, sleep routine), temperament, and energy level so I can keep things as consistent as possible. I also like to know about any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or past injuries—my veterinary technician experience allows me to confidently manage and monitor these when needed. Behavior is also very important. I ask about how your pet does with other dogs, strangers, children, and if they have any triggers such as food guarding, anxiety, or escape tendencies. Knowing their likes and dislikes helps me create a stress-free environment tailored to them. I also go over emergency contacts, preferred veterinarian, and any specific instructions or preferences you have—because no one knows your pet better than you do. The more I know upfront, the better I can ensure your pet stays safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
