Animal behavior has always been a focal point for me, and I like to roll with whatever the animal wants, within reason. If they want pets and cuddles, that's what I'll give them. If that's raucous play time, then let's go! The goal is for them to feel comfortable, safe, and enriched

While I've had pets my entire life, I've professionally cared for the animals of others for nearly 10 years. While I was in the Army, I fostered for a local rescue and did the basic training and socialization for young, abandoned puppies to get them ready for forever homes. While pursuing my BS of Animal Science at ISU (Class of '19) I worked at Lloyd Veterinary Medical Hospital with equines of all ages, and spent several years as professional Animal caretaker working at the USDA with small animals. I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, as well as rodents and other small animal pets, geckos, and freshwater aquarium fish.

Katie watched my two cats when we left for a vacation. One of the cats is old and has GI issues. Katie was very patient with her, keeping me informed of appetite and upset stomach via text when they occurred. She also sent me happy pictures of both cats, which eased my mind. She was willing to come over twice per day, which made a difference for the cats as I could see they were relaxed when we returned. Her attention kept them healthy and unstressed, and allowed me to enjoy my vacation!
