Pet care experience

Large yard, experienced trainer

Dogs were always a part of my family growing up, and I have always been passionate about all animals, but my interest and passion for working with Dogs as a career path peaked when I was around 18 and began working as an assistant to a trainer who specialized in dogs with behavior issues. It was challenging but incredibly rewarding and along the way I learned a lot about dogs, how they communicate, how to better communicate with them, understanding each individual dogs’ needs and applying the knowledge of training tools and techniques appropriately. In 2017, I started my own canine care company (Good Dog! Walking) and have been running it full time ever since, offering customized canine care options to parents outside of the standard doggy daycare brick and mortar store. My focus is providing a home-like atmosphere for the dogs that stay with me, with full access to a large fenced yard and the ability to socialize with other dogs. Crates are available upon request and private areas of the yard and house can be used for more solitary personalities.

My two dogs spent a long weekend with Kaitlin and they came home happy, healthy, and tired out from all the fun they had. Kaitlin is very flexible and accommodating and we will definitely use her in the future to care for our fur babies.

Kaitlin was wonderful for us and for our dog, Barko. She communicated frequently from start to finish! We would definitely ask her to take care of any dog we have now or in the future. Please count on us as five star fans!

Kaitlin was absolutely amazing!! She took such good care of our pups (who can be a bit of a handful!) and gave us daily updates on their time with her! I would recommend her to everyone and will be booking with her again soon!!

A typical day

My home is a very social environment, I always have dogs being boarded in a group setting and all pups that stay with us get the opportunity to hang out, run, jump, fetch and play outside with other social dogs in a roomy yard. We do have some more solitary personalities that stay with us, which we are happy to accommodate with personal secluded space. Senior or other Dogs that prefer to be inside and away from commotion are free to do so. I generally do not crate dogs but I do have crates on hand for those that are being crate trained (or sleep in a crate at night) and I have experience with crate training many different ages and breeds. If your dog is in the process of being trained, I’m happy to reinforce that training while they are here with whatever methods you are using and I do enforce proper social skills and manners when the pups are interacting with one another.

I like to get to know everything I can about dogs that come to stay with me - but especially important is their temperament and social skills, since they will be interacting with a range of other dog breeds, ages, and sizes. How are they off-leash? How are they on-leash?Are they an escape-artist? Do they dig? Are they afraid of anything in particular? Do they hate the mailman? Do they love fetch? Anything you can tell me about your dog’s personality is important, safety is my number one priority and understanding each dog on an individual level is paramount. But also, having an awesome stay is important to me, and knowing what your dog enjoys or does not enjoy helps me facilitate that.
