I always put myself in my clients shoes when it comes to pet sitting. Trusting a stranger with your pets is HUGE and for some it may be their first time leaving their pets behind. With all of my past sittings, I do "daily updates" through text which includes photos of their pet and what we got up to together. I strongly encourage pet parents to reach out if they are concerned or missing their pet, I'd be happy to send video updates as needed.

I love hearing about your pets little "quirks", stubbornness, and daily routines that they have! (Do they get a nightly banana treat before bed? Are they fed at a specific time every day and will be sure let me know if I'm a minute late from meal time?) It is important to me that your pets normal lifestyle is transitioned a smoothly as possible. It is as hard for them as it is us leaving them.
A typical day
Depending on your pets physical activity and temperment, I do enjoy going on long walks around the neighbourhood. If owners are comfortable and the pet is happy to be around other dogs, I may introduce them to my bernedoodle at home so they can play and tire each other out. Other times, I go on hikes in the forest, or just have a cozy afternoon in where your pet will get all the snuggles!

I have owned and cared for dogs of all sizes and ages for the past 10 years and have had the privilege of expanding that care to cats over the past 5 years. I am a veterinary technician graduate as of April 2026 and have been working in veterinary clinics over the past 8 years. With my veterinary care background, I am happy to extend my care in administering daily medications that they may be on, nail trims, baths, ear cleanings, and most of all long walks daily! Without sounding exaggerative, pet care is my life. I always put the pets I care for first. If I have day plans or am at work, I make sure I have a plan set to make sure I am there for them and they are not alone for extended lengths of time during the day. I enjoy their company (& I assume they enjoy mine) so I have no issues staying at home, playing with them, and going on multiple walks through out the day.

Kaia was amazing.Our pups truly enjoyed their time with her. She took them on travels, stayed with them for the week and kept the house in good order. Couldn’t ask for more than that. We would highly recommend Kaia. She’s trustworthy and honest, caring and thoughtful and truly has the best interest of your pets at heart.
Kaia has proven to be a great resource and care provider. I rarely (if ever) trust a person to take care of my dogs the way I would. I would also worry the whole time I was away from them. Knowing (and seeing) her clear care/love, experience, and education (being a Vet Tech) was clearly evident and brought me a sense of peace knowing they were in good hands while I was away. She did a fantastic job of keeping me updated daily with pictures, videos, and texts, which added to my comfort. It was also amazing knowing that because of her education and qualifications, if anything came up accident and/or health wise (or she picked up on an issue that others may miss/dismiss), that she knew what to do and where to go. Would recommend and trust her over and over to care for my fur babies.
My wife and I were leaving for Florida for two weeks and needed someone to look after Harley, our aging Shihpoo. Kaia was the hands-down our first choice. I have known her all her life and throughout those years she has consistently demonstrated her deep love and passion for animals, especially dogs, of which she had several. Added to that, Kaia has gained key dog training skills and has also acquired additional knowledge and skills pertaining to animal health and care through her studies as a Veterinarian Technician and working in several veterinary clinics. I knew that my dog would be in good hands over the course of our holiday. While under her care for the 2 weeks, she communicated frequently through text and pictures how Harley was doing. He seemed very content via the pictures sent and was his “old self” when Kaia brought him back. I would highly recommend Kaia, who I know, will be the best that she can be for anyone who wants a trustworthy and extremely caring animal caretaker.
Kaia has been a life saver when I’ve had to go away and leave my cat for a few days or more. She went above and beyond. Sent me pictures and took care of everything. I would highly recommend her if you’re looking for pet sitter.
