I am a HUGE dog person, with the most consistent best friend of my life being my childhood dog, Honi. I grew up taking care of her, learning about dogs as a personal interest, but also from a professional standpoint, as I provided care for dogs, cats, rehabilitated birds, (and a rescued wild boar!) during family house and pet-sitting gigs. I have done everywhere from week-long to two-month long pet-sitting stints. I loved spending time with animals so much that for a while I considered vet school, even attending a four week intensive vet career prospective summer program at Cornell University for youth. While now I am a professional musician, the knowledge about animal behavior and physiology has stuck with me, and helped me be even more in-tune to the animals I care for. I have done a lot of research on animal communication, and as a patient and determined person, am more than happy to take the time to understand your pet from wherever they are coming from and provide them with the attention and care that best works for them. It is important to me to have trusting and loving friendships with every dog I meet. I can sit and wait til shy dog feels safe enough to approach, or get on all fours to tussle with a puppy. No matter the approach, I always feel like I connect to dogs eye-to-eye and heart-to-heart. Dogs bring me so much happiness and joy, and I want to be able to reciprocate that for them and their families by offering exuberant, engaged, and personalized care. Also! I am an experienced photographer, and can do portraits of your pets: all dolled up, or on the fly!

I welcome pets in my house, which has two levels (which can be isolated from one another) for them to make themselves feel at home. I spend whatever time I can (which is pretty much all of it!) with the animals I am boarding, though there are also areas I have ensured are safe and secure in the home regardless of my direct supervision during any time I need to step out for any errands. I have a yard, and live DIRECTLY across from a huge, beautiful, and quite often empty park with a field and a forested walking trail. As far as pet-sitting in other homes, I am happy to discuss and follow any expectations and systems-in-place to make sure the residents feel comfortable and confident in their animal and home’s care during their absence.

Kai is very friendly, my dog liked them right away. Kai was also very flexible and worked with me on my last minute scheduling. I got a few pics and texts to let me know everything was okay. Highly recommend! Thanks so much for the help!
Kai made our stay away a lot less stressful. He sent some awesome pics of our dog getting hugged and spoiled...just what we hoped for! Looking forward to having Kai stay again in the future!!

Schedule
I’m currently working from home, so I have plenty of time to spend with your furred family! As of now, I only need to be away from the house for a few hours during occasional gigs in the evening, usually only a couple times a month, if that.
