This is Zak's full time job. He is able to be home with our guests throughout the day and commits a lot of time, play, and energy to keeping them happy and loved. Justine works a hybrid job and is able to be home part time to help as well. We do step out of our home for regular errands, social commitments, and other life necessities. For this reason, we ask that all incoming guests are comfortable being left alone for up to 4 hours max with minimal separation anxiety. We are committed to being as present as possible for animals in our care.

We live in a beautiful multi-story home up north. Our home is located in a quiet, calm, and scenic neighborhood near the Puget Sound. We are secluded, with no foot traffic that runs by. We have a fully renovated dog room for our guests to wrestle and play in, along with a huge fenced field for a yard where they are free to run and play off leash while staying secured and safe.

Information Justine & Zak S. would like to know about your pet
We would want to know about any specific needs or accommodations that the dog will require in order to give our best care. We would want to know where his/her favorite walk and play areas are, along with their favorite toys and treats. We do not have any breed preferences, we love them all!
A typical day
We follow a daily routine with our guests that keeps them happy, fulfilled, and engaged during their stay: 8am: Wake up hours, and first yard outing of the day. We lets the dogs stretch their legs, play fetch, and encouraging them to start hydrating. 9am: Breakfast. Guests are fed in separated crate and/or gated areas to eliminate any cross-food contamination for sensitive tummies, and to also avoid any food aggression. 9:30am: Rest time. After breakfast and a hard hour of play, we then turn the lights down and have some lay down time while their bellies digest. 11-1pm: More engagement. This includes group play, solo play, fetch, walks, and photo ops to send to pet-parents! We have so much fun during this time slot. 1:30pm: Afternoon rest. We all head back inside for some more quiet time with calming white noise. This is our big afternoon nap time. 4:00pm: Pre-dinner outing. More play, a potty break, and a chance for more socialization. 5-6pm: Dinner, rest, and clean up. 7-9pm: Quiet hours. We spend time with the pups doing more low-energy activities indoors. Many pups will rest, sniff and socialize, or just lounge around. Occasional short potty breaks as needed. 10pm: Final potty break for the night. We make sure everyone uses the bathroom and gets out any final zoomies. We then head inside to be tucked in and lights out. Pups go to sleep each night well exercised, tired, and happy.

Reviews

Justine and Zak took such good care of our dog! It was his first time being boarded and he had a great time. Great communication and lots of cute pics were sent to us. Will definitely be booking with them again.

Provided constant updates and very quick to respond. Our German shepherd came back so happy! Would highly recommend. Thank you!

Zak & Justine took great care of Mabel and were very communicative throughout her stay. I appreciated the frequent photo/video updates and could tell they genuinely cared about making her comfortable while she settled into a new environment. They were also flexible helping with pickup/dropoff logistics during my travel schedule, which helped a lot. One note for future clients — their Rover profile was still set to Queen Anne during booking, though they are currently located in Edmonds. It would’ve helped me operationally to know that upfront when coordinating travel and pickup plans. Overall though, Mabel came home happy, healthy, and well cared for.

Dogs always love going to Justine & Zak’s, there is so much room to run around. And they’re so well cared for. Thank you.
