Pet care experience
A Family, Not a Kennel 🩷
We’re so glad you found us! Before sending a request, we’d love to share a little about our home and family so you can get a feel for whether we’re the right fit for your pup. We’re a dog loving family in Elkton, and caring for animals has always been something that brings us joy. For us, pet care is more than just a service, it’s welcoming another member of the family into our home and making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while they’re away from their own family. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of caring for many wonderful pups and are so thankful for the trust families have placed in us. Every dog that stays with us becomes a part of our daily routine, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to love them like our own. I’m Justin, and I work as a truck driver Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule. My wife, Stephanie, works at a nearby school, and her dad also lives with us, so there is almost always someone home to provide companionship and care throughout the day. Our home is busy, but in the best way. We have three children ages 3, 6, and 8, along with our two dogs, Holly, our playful Bernedoodle, and Shadow, our sweet senior girl. Visiting pups naturally become part of our family rhythm, whether that means relaxing on the couch, playing in the yard, or simply having someone nearby throughout the day. Because we are a family home with children and other dogs, we are best suited for pups who enjoy a little activity, attention, and social interaction. If your dog is shy, older, or prefers a quieter environment, that’s okay too. We’re happy to adjust their routine and create a calmer space with extra one on one care so they can feel comfortable and secure. We have years of experience volunteering, fostering, and caring for dogs with all kinds of personalities, including seniors and pups who need medications or a little extra patience and support. Caring for animals has always been something close to our hearts. Our home includes a fully fenced yard where dogs can enjoy safe outdoor time, and inside is a cozy, relaxed environment where they can settle in and feel at home. We do have a few steps at our entryway and leading to the yard, so dogs with significant mobility challenges may have a harder time here. While your pup is staying with us, we’ll send daily photo or video updates so you can see how they’re doing and feel connected while you’re away. If you ever want to check in or ask for an update, please don’t hesitate to message us. We’re always happy to share how your pup is doing. For weekday drop offs, we kindly ask that they happen before 6 a.m. or after 4 p.m. We’ve found that these times allow us to give each pup a calm, unrushed welcome. It gives us time to properly greet them, help them settle in, and start their stay feeling comfortable and positive. If that timing doesn’t work for your schedule, that’s completely okay. We can also welcome your pup the evening before at no additional charge. Our biggest goal is for every dog who stays with us to feel safe, loved, and cared for just like they would at home. We would love the opportunity to meet you and your pup and see if we’re the right fit. Feel free to reach out anytime with questions or to schedule a meet and greet. We can’t wait to meet you!

Charley had another great mini-vacation with Justin & Stephanie. We got lots of pictures while she was there - she had a lot of fun ❤️

Rebooking with Justin and Stephanie was easy through Rover. Just as with our first experience, this one was perfect. Nala fits in well with their busy family, and we recommend highly their great care.

Justin and Stephanie were great! They took such great care of our little guy, communicated with us everyday and sent photos, quick to respond and extremely flexible. We will be booking them again!

This was the best boarding experience that we have had! Great communication and sent tons of photos daily. I could tell my pets were having a great time and it alleviated a lot of the stress of being apart from them. I think they were sad to leave!! Highly recommend and will be back!

Smore's and Neve had a great time with Justin and Stephanie. They were very attentive and caring, and also very flexible with the schedule. I recommend them!

Schedule
Pet care naturally fits into our daily routine because someone is almost always home between myself, my wife, and my father in law. That means dogs are part of the flow of our day, and there’s consistent presence, supervision, and check ins throughout the day rather than long stretches of being alone. Our schedule is flexible, so we’re able to step away for potty breaks, playtime, quick walks, or just extra attention whenever it’s needed. We don’t really treat it like a separate task from our day, it just blends in with everything else going on in the home. We’re able to adjust easily based on each dog’s needs, whether that means more frequent breaks, quiet downtime, or a little extra one on one time during the day. Overall, there’s a steady presence here, and pets are rarely without someone nearby to care for them, interact with them, or simply keep them company.
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Safety and comfort are at the center of everything we do in our home. We make sure each pet is set up in an environment where they can feel secure, relaxed, and cared for throughout their stay. Dogs are supervised as part of our daily home life, so they’re never left in situations where they’re unsupervised or unsure of what’s going on. We keep a close eye on group interactions and always make adjustments if a dog seems more comfortable with space or needs a calmer setting. Our home is structured in a way that allows us to safely separate dogs when needed, whether that’s for rest, feeding, or simply personal comfort. We pay attention to each dog’s signals and adjust their environment so they feel stable and at ease. We also do our best to maintain consistency with what they’re used to at home, especially around routines and care instructions, because familiarity helps build trust and reduces stress. At the end of the day, our goal is simple: to provide a safe, calm, and trustworthy environment where each dog feels secure and well cared for while they’re with us.
Pets
A typical day
A typical day here is pretty simple and steady, and the dogs just naturally become part of everything going on in the home. The day usually starts with letting everyone out for potty breaks and a little time to stretch and settle in. As the household gets moving, dogs are either relaxing nearby, following along with the day, or getting a bit of attention and interaction as things come up naturally. Throughout the day, we rotate between letting dogs out, short play sessions in the yard, and calm downtime inside. Some dogs like to stay close and involved in whatever we’re doing, while others prefer to rest and recharge between activities, and we adjust to that without forcing a set structure. Meals, potty breaks, and check-ins are spaced consistently so everyone stays comfortable and settled. In between those moments, there’s usually a mix of gentle interaction, quiet rest, and whatever level of activity each dog seems to want that day. By the evening, things slow down a bit, and most dogs are relaxing, snuggling, or winding down for the night after a day that just feels like being part of a home.
