My work: I've been on Rover for the past 4 years and I've had the opportunity to work with all types of dogs and cats. As a petsitter I draw on my extensive experience as a long time dog owner to mind your pet as if they were my own. I've cared for dogs from puppy stage to senior through to end of life care. I use gentle and consistent positive reinforcement to be a good leader for your dog to create structure, security, and mutual respect. With cats I've worked with all types of personalities, from skittish shy ones to affectionate and extra cuddly ones. I'll make sure your kitties feel respected and their needs listened to. Most importantly, your pets will be loved, pampered, and be well cared for under my supervision so you can enjoy a stress free holiday! My background with dogs: Our family dog Choco, a beautiful Shetland Sheepdog (black and white pup in my photo) lived a long and healthy life until the grand old age of 16. After he passed I decided to adopt Cheddar, a sweet little 6 year old jindo/terrier rescue from South Korea in 2021. When Cheddar first arrived in Vancouver he was heart worm positive and needed extensive vet and home care. He was rescued from a high-kill shelter and was in rough shape. He was extremely fearful, aggressive towards other dogs, and would resource guard his food. He was extremely sensitive and needed round the clock care. But after seven months of daily medication, vet care, behavioural training using positive reinforcement, leash training, and gentle socialization we were able to bring him back to full health. Now he's transformed into a well behaved, gentle, and loving companion.
