Safety, trust & environment

When caring for dogs in my home, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment where they can maintain their normal routine as much as possible. I have a secure, grassy fenced-in backyard for supervised play and exercise, and there are no children in the home—just two responsible adults—so visiting dogs can enjoy a quieter, lower-stress environment. Because I do not currently have any pets of my own, dogs in my care receive my full attention and don’t have to adjust to sharing space with resident animals. For daycare and boarding, I provide regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, enrichment activities, plenty of affection, and close supervision. I am experienced with administering medications, including pills, ear drops, and topical treatments, and I carefully follow any instructions provided by pet parents. I also limit boarding to a small number of dogs to ensure each one receives personalized care and attention. When caring for dogs in a client’s home, I respect their established routines and work to make the experience as seamless as possible. Whether that means following a specific feeding schedule, administering medications, maintaining training practices, providing exercise, or simply offering companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I understand that consistency helps dogs feel secure while their owners are away, and I make communication a priority by providing regular updates, photos, and check-ins. 🐾

Information Julissa R. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for a dog, I like to learn as much as possible about their personality, routine, and needs so I can provide the best experience possible. Some important things I like to know include: * Feeding schedule, food portions, and any dietary restrictions or allergies * Medications, supplements, or health concerns * Energy level and exercise requirements * Temperament around people, children, other dogs, and other animals * Any history of anxiety, fear, reactivity, or aggression * Triggers that may cause stress (thunderstorms, fireworks, strangers, vacuum cleaners, etc.) * House-training status and potty break schedule * Favorite toys, games, treats, and activities * Crate training preferences and sleeping arrangements * Commands they know and any training routines you’d like me to maintain * Emergency veterinarian information and preferred emergency contacts I also like to schedule a meet-and-greet whenever possible. It gives me a chance to get to know your dog, answer any questions, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before the stay begins. My goal is to provide a safe, stress-free experience that feels as close to home as possible for your pet. 🐾❤️

A typical day

Fun is a big part of every dog’s stay! I tailor activities to each dog’s age, energy level, and personality. For active dogs, that can include games of fetch in my fenced backyard, tug-of-war, long walks, chase games, and plenty of outdoor playtime. For dogs who enjoy mental stimulation, I incorporate basic training reinforcement, treat-finding games, and enrichment activities that keep their minds engaged. For senior dogs or lower-energy pups, I’m happy to provide gentler walks, cuddle time, belly rubs, and relaxed companionship. I pay close attention to each dog’s comfort level and preferences, making sure they get the right balance of exercise, play, and rest. Whether your dog is an athlete who loves to run or a couch potato who prefers snuggles, my goal is to make sure they have a safe, fun, and enriching experience while you’re away. 🐾❤️

Pet care experience

Dogs have been a part of my life for more than 20 years, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. Friends and family have long trusted me as their go-to pet sitter and dog walker whenever they travel, knowing their pets will be treated like family in my care. I have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, including training and rehabilitating aggressive rescue dogs. I’m comfortable administering medications such as pills, ear drops, and topical treatments, and I have firsthand experience caring for elderly dogs or dogs with complex medical needs. My beloved dog, Ralphie, bravely battled cancer for over a year, which taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of compassionate care during difficult times. My home features a secure, grassy fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely play and explore. Since Ralphie passed away last year after a second battle with cancer, I have all the space, supplies, and dog-friendly setup needed to comfortably care for visiting pets, but no pets of my own. This allows me to focus completely on the dogs in my care. My goal is simple: to make your dog feel safe, happy, loved, and cared for while you’re away. 🐾❤️

Jules was absolutely incredible with my dog, Duke. From the very beginning, she was warm, communicative, and genuinely excited to spend time with him. She sent regular updates, photos, and thoughtful notes that showed she was paying close attention to his routines and big personality. They bonded quickly, and he's always excited to see her. When I came home, Duke is relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for. My house looked exactly as I left it, and she even picked up his toys. Truly, no small task with a dog his size and toys being put away really means it's play time! It’s obvious that Jules treats every pet like family, and that level of care is rare. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and truly caring sitter. Duke will absolutely be staying with her again.

Not only is Julissa an amazing fur baby mom, having had two amazing fur babies (Ralphie and Shadow) that have sadly crossed over the rainbow bridge after living long, amazing lives, she has been helpful in caring for our own for fur baby Natsu when asked to babysit. 😁 Her love and care to furry family members is unquestionable, so anyone who chooses Julissa to help care for a valued member of their family should be comforted in knowing that they are in great hands.

Julissa has helped to take care of my pets many times over the years, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Julissa also raised two of the sweetest dogs I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, so you can rest assured that your pets are in the best of hands.
