Former Vet Tech w/ fenced yard!
I am a caring animal lover who enjoys pet sitting. I spent 17+ years working as a veterinary technician but I have now switched to financial services to have a much better work/life balance. I used to petsit because I needed to supplement my income, now I do it because I miss working with animals so much! We are a military family and returned to the area from a couple years in San Diego the end of 2019 where I welcomed pet sitting as well. We currently don't have a dog of our own, but we do have a cat who thinks he is a dog. Our children have been raised around dogs, cats, and kittens/puppies, as I have done a lot of fostering and caring for a variety of animals through my job and volunteer positions. As confident as I am in how well they are with pets, I never leave them unsupervised. I especially love caring for senior pets, I feel they should have a warm bed and/or couch to nap on rather than stay in a kennel. I have a lot of experience with various medical conditions to help keep your mind at ease while you are away.

I can’t say enough good things about our experience! Oliver is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day, so leaving him with someone new can be a little nerve-racking. Her previous experience as a vet tech gave us tremendous peace of mind—and ended up being especially important during his stay. Oliver decided he didn’t want to eat while we were gone, which can make managing his insulin tricky. She knew how to navigate the situation, kept a close eye on him, and even cooked chicken for him to try to entice him to eat. I was so grateful knowing he was with someone who understood his medical needs and truly cared about his well-being. She kept me updated throughout our trip, sent pictures, and let me know how he was doing, which allowed me to relax and enjoy being away without constantly worrying about him. Oliver was very well cared for, and I would absolutely trust her with him again. I’m so thankful we found someone who is not only dependable and caring, but also has the experience to handle a dog with special medical needs. Highly recommend!
This was our first time using Rover services and boarding our fur baby, so we were nervous. But, Julie was great! She was very accommodating and friendly! We could tell right away her family loved animals and that our fur baby was in good hands and goodness was she! Our fur baby Lilly had an amazing time and got the love and care she deserved. We will definitely have Julie watch our fur baby again.
Julie stayed in contact with us. Answered questions when needed. Sent us a few pics of Sophie. Our dog got to sleep with Julie and her husband. Also Sophie got used to their cat. Overall a good experience.
Julie did a wonderful job of taking care of our older dog Karli. She provides a comfortable loving family home for our furry child. I would recommend Julie to anyone seeking a high quality pet sitting experience.
We are new to the area and have never left our fur baby with anyone other than family. Julie made the stay very comfortable for us and our big baby. She sent pictures during his stay to keep us updated on how he was adjusting. Very grateful that she was able to watch him for us.
Sport had a blast staying with her family overnight. She shared a video of him engaged in some happy wrestling another dog. He came home tired and happy.

Schedule
I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to be home on my lunch break, and I also work from home some days. This way at a minimum the dogs get to enjoy some outdoor playtime for an hour mid day.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fully fenced in yard and kiddos that love to throw the ball. I am able to crate your dog if needed. We also have a gated dog room (technically the formal dining/sitting room) for when we step out of the house. This way the dogs have room to lounge or play, but still keep them honest! It is complete with different types of dog beds, a recliner, various toys, and water bowls.

A typical day
Play time in the yard, throwing ball or the kong stick. Followed by relaxing on the various dog beds scattered throughout the house - dog's choice!
