Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. Julie currently works from home most days, with occasional office days, which gives her a flexible schedule for school drop-offs and pick-ups for Kairi while also making sure Leia gets plenty of attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. As a family, we’re used to building our schedules around pets’ needs, including walks, feeding routines, playtime, and senior pet care.

Safety, trust & environment

While we don’t have a private yard, we’re located directly across the street from St. James Park, which gives us easy access to plenty of space for walks, exercise, and potty breaks. The park also has an enclosed dog park area where dogs can safely play and burn off energy if appropriate for them. Inside our home, we make sure pets feel comfortable and safe. We also have a grass patch available indoors in case a dog needs to go out in the middle of the night. We always follow each dog’s routine and the owner’s instructions as closely as possible—whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or simply giving them a calm place to relax. Our goal is to make your pet feel safe, cared for, and part of the family while they’re with us.

Information Julie M. would like to know about your pet

To help us make your pet feel comfortable, safe, and right at home, it’s helpful for us to learn a little about them ahead of time. Please let us know: What is your pet’s daily routine (feeding schedule, potty breaks, walks)? Does your dog have any medications, allergies, or medical needs? How does your dog typically interact with other dogs or cats? Are they comfortable around children? Do they have any fears, triggers, or behaviors we should know about (separation anxiety, resource guarding, etc.)? What are their favorite activities, toys, or treats? Are they allowed to visit parks or go on outings? Is there anything that helps your dog feel more comfortable in a new environment? Since our dog Leia will be in the home, it’s important that visiting dogs are friendly with other dogs. Our goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for during their stay. 🐾

A typical day

Since we live right across the street from St. James Park, our day usually includes walks to the park for fresh air, exercise, and potty breaks. If it’s appropriate for the dog, we may also visit the enclosed dog park there for some safe playtime and socialization. At home, we spend a lot of time simply enjoying the dogs’ company—playing with their toys, relaxing together, or cuddling while watching a movie. We keep things calm, comfortable and make sure every dog feels like part of the family. With the owner’s permission, we also enjoy occasional outings such as day trips to the beach, visiting Grandpa (Julie’s dad in Stockton), or stopping by Julie’s sister’s home nearby. Dogs that join us get plenty of attention, activity, and companionship throughout the day. 🐾

Pet care experience

After taking a break when we welcomed our daughter Kairi five years ago, our family is excited to be back caring for dogs. Dogs have always been a huge part of both of our lives and families since childhood. Our beloved lab mix, Jet, crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023 after 15 wonderful years with us. We raised him from puppyhood through his senior years, which gave us extensive experience with aging dogs and the extra patience, comfort, routines, and attention they need. Senior care is something we truly understand and feel passionate about, and we especially enjoy caring for older dogs who may need a calmer environment, a slower pace, or a little extra TLC. We now have Leia, our 11-year-old chiweenie, who absolutely loves attention. As long as someone is nearby giving her love, she’s a happy girl! Since becoming an only dog, she’s definitely become a little spoiled, but all that love has made her incredibly sweet, social, and full of personality. Because Leia is older, we do prefer more mellow, gentle dogs that will help keep her comfortable and relaxed in our home. Between caring for Jet through his senior years and now Leia, we’ve found that we really specialize in elder dog care and understand the unique needs that come with senior pets. Leia misses having her longtime companion Jet around, and while we’re not ready to replace him, we’d love for her to have dog friends and companionship again — which is one of the reasons we’re excited to be back on Rover. As a family, we genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, whether that’s going for walks, playing with toys, or simply relaxing together at home. Kairi has grown up around dogs and loves giving them gentle affection and attention, always with our supervision. When Julie has free time, she also enjoys trying dog-friendly recipes inspired by accounts she follows, like The CED Life Instagram . Leia gets what we jokingly call an “elevated dining experience,” and with owner permission, we’d be happy to share some homemade treats with visiting pups too. Most importantly, we know how important it is to trust the people caring for your dog. Your pup will be treated like part of our family, with plenty of love, attention, playtime, and a safe, comfortable environment while you’re away. 🐾

Best dog sitter we’ve had! Julie and her family treated my dogs like their own, giving them so much love and attention. They made sure my pups felt comfortable and even took them out to play, which I really appreciated. Julie also kept me updated regularly, which gave me real peace of mind knowing my dogs were in great hands. I’ll definitely be booking with her again the next time we’re out of town!

Julie took such great care of my dog! She updated me everyday with photos, text messages, and I could tell Cooper had a fantastic time with her dog Leia. I’m so glad I found her to doggy sit!

I recently moved to the Bay Area and this was my first time boarding Lucky with Julie and her family. I could not be more pleased with the stay! They took such good care of him and sent regular pictures and updates with little notes about what Lucky was up to. Julie was very flexible and allowed me to change the booking two times which I appreciated a lot. We did a meet and greet first where she patiently understood all of Lucky’s care requirements and answered our questions. The drop off and pick up went smoothly. Everything was neatly packed when I picked Lucky up, even his bowls were washed! And most importantly Lucky looked happy and well taken care of :) I would highly recommend Julie for her dog boarding services!
