Pet care is already part of my everyday life. I’m home full-time on my farm, and my days naturally revolve around animal care, feeding routines, turnout, and regular wellness checks. Because of this, dogs in my care are rarely left alone and are gently monitored throughout the day. I keep a calm, consistent rhythm that helps animals settle in and feel secure.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and a low-stress environment are always my top priorities. In my home, dogs stay in a quiet farm setting where I’m home full-time and able to supervise throughout the day. I keep a structured, predictable routine so pets feel secure and settled. I have a securely fenced yard available for smaller dogs for safe outdoor time. Dogs can always be separated if needed, and I’m comfortable crating when that’s part of your dog’s normal routine. For higher-energy dogs, supervised farm hikes are available as an add-on and are always handled thoughtfully and at the dog’s comfort level.

Information julie k. would like to know about your pet

Every dog is unique, and I take the time to understand each one’s personality, energy level, and needs. I provide gentle, patient care for senior dogs who may need extra rest, slower walks, or special attention. I also enjoy working with higher-energy dogs, offering longer nature walks or hikes and plenty of playtime to keep them happy and stimulated. I pay close attention to behavior, comfort, and health, and I’m happy to accommodate special routines, medications, or preferences so every dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for during their stay.

A typical day

Farm-Based Training Stays for Dogs

Pet care experience

Dear Mom (or Dad), I think I found the perfect place to stay while you're away. When you drop me off, I get to spend time on a peaceful farm where my days have a calm, steady rhythm. I’ll get fresh air, new smells, and gentle guidance to help me settle in and feel comfortable. My day might include time outside, quiet rest, and simple training woven into everyday life—like practicing calm behavior, manners, and confidence in a new environment. If I have energy, I’ll get to move and explore. If I prefer a slower pace, that’s okay too. If I’m a senior dog, I’ll be cared for with patience and ease. If I’m younger, I’ll have structure and outlets that help me stay balanced. Mostly, I’ll spend my time feeling safe, understood, and well cared for—with just the right mix of attention, routine, and calm. Don’t worry about me—I’m in good hands. Love, Your Best Friend Hi, I’m Julie! I live on a quiet farm and have years of experience caring for animals, especially dogs. I offer farm-based training stays, where dogs are cared for in a calm, structured environment using positive reinforcement. Because I live on a farm, dogs benefit from fresh air, open space, and a slower pace—while still having clear routines and thoughtful supervision. I work with each dog as an individual, whether they need gentle handling, confidence building, or help settling into a balanced routine. This is a small, low-volume setting by design, allowing for personalized care and attention. For the safety and health of all dogs, I require up-to-date vaccinations, including rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. My goal is for each dog to leave feeling calm, comfortable, and well cared for.

As a lifelong horse owner who has known Julie for a long time, I can speak to her depth of knowledge and genuine attention to each horse’s wellbeing. What I appreciate most is how closely she observes the horses in her care. She notices the small changes that matter, from appetite and manure to movement and overall attitude. That level of awareness gives tremendous peace of mind when you’re away from your barn. She is especially thoughtful with feeding programs and understands the different needs of metabolic horses, seniors, and young horses. Everything is handled with intention, consistency, and a calm presence that horses clearly respond well to.

As her husband, I witness daily Julie putting her animals first. It starts with her unconditional love for them. Everything flows from that love. They get the healthiest food; the safest living space, and timeliest veterinary care. She exhaustively researches these before making any changes. This is so important because their needs can and will change. She will treat your pets the same way. You can absolutely trust her to meet all of your pet's needs.

When I had an unexpected hospital stay, Julie stepped in and cared for Emma for three full weeks at her home. I was incredibly stressed leaving Emma for that long, but Julie kept me updated with photos and messages the entire time. Emma came back happy, calm, and clearly well loved. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in such capable hands. — Judy J.
