A Mini-Vacay While You're Away

Your dog deserves the best care in your absence. By limiting my home to one guest dog (or one family of guest dogs, if you have more than one dog), I can ensure they receive plentiful one-on-one attention. Our pet-friendly home has ample room to run around and play, including our fully-fenced backyard and 2000 sq ft home. I've cared for a variety of dogs since I was a kid. My first dog was a German Shepherd when I was 10 and I currently have a 17 year old Pomeranian-Poodle mix named Wes. I have looked after teacup havanese to ex-racing greyhounds, adore them all. I have experience with senior dogs, puppies, special needs dogs, administering (non-injectable) medication, mild behavior training, and even giving doggy haircuts (a handy pandemic skill borne out of necessity). I am the go-to friend as an emergency contact and I would love to make sure your furry bff has a fantastic and safe time while you're away.

As we did a few meet and greets, our dog Mochi, knew something was going to happen. She was whining in her carrier bag as I was about to drop her off. We walked up to the door, Julie (and Wes) calmed her instantly. Mochi had a great long weekend in Mt, Baker! She clearly had plenty of exercise and attention, she was definitely cleaner than when she was dropped off! We won’t think twice for our next trip we’re booking with Julie again!

Julie and her household provided excellent care for my two dogs while we were out of town. She was very attentive to their needs, provided loving care and regular walks, and also sent regular updates. Our dogs clearly enjoyed their stay! We would recommend her without reservation and happily board with her again.

I found the most amazing pet sitter for my dog, Churro! She took care of him while my family was visiting, and we couldn't be happier. Five stars all the way! This pet sitter was a true gem. From the start, she showed genuine love for animals and made me feel at ease. Churro's well-being was her top priority, and she went above and beyond to give him the best care. Churro had a blast with her! She gave him plenty of exercise, playtime, and loads of love. I received regular updates and adorable pictures, which made our time apart a little easier.

Safety, trust & environment

Separation from owners is tough on pets and while you're at work or play, your dog will receive the best care and attention. Lots of play, cuddles, and exploration to be had! My dog Wes shares toys and food/water bowls well and exhibits no territorial behavior. We have a beautiful deck and fenced backyard for the dogs to romp around and explore. Our house is large and full of soft, cozy things and quiet spaces to nap when they're all worn out :) The noise isolation is great in our home and we live in a very quiet neighborhood.

A typical day

Interactive play is my preferred method to occupy your dog's mind in your absence. This means lots of walks, unlimited backyard/outdoor time, interactive puzzles, chew toys, and comfort plushies to keep them endlessly stimulated. My goal is to get your dog too happily tired out to even worry about separation anxiety.

Kindly inform me during our Meet & Greet of any special needs or quirks your dog may have. I like to know the standard routine of your dog's day and their preferred engagement style so I can make the transition as smooth as possible for them during their stay. Some Q's I may ask during our brief M&G: - Walk me through a typical day in your dog's home life. Do they exhibit certain signals/behaviors to convey when they want something? - Do they like to sleep in the bed with people or have their own designated spot at night? - Any allergens/food allergies/sensitivities/triggers? - Does your dog have any oral fixations (chewing non-food items) and how food-motivated are they? - How does your dog fare on car rides? While being held? - How does your dog behave while leashed? Is there potential for a reactive response? - When encountering another dog, is it better to put space between the dogs or allow the dogs to sniff/get acquainted?
