I have always had a pet or two in my life. From our first family dog when I was 8 (a miniature Schnauzer) to my current canine (a Great Dane), plus two cats along the way (Alex who lived to be 16 and who developed diabetes later in life; and CandIe, my current rescue cat who loves everyone and thinks she is a dog), I have loved snuggling with, caring for, training, and goofing with animals! All of my pets have lived to very old ages in a home with love, care, and consistency. I know when a pet is sad, stressed, fearful, or sick! I have the perfect mix of silliness and motherly instinct to ensure that your fur baby will thrive while in my care. I will go to any length to assure your pet's comfort and care (with your approval).

Julie took great care of our dog, Bucket, while we were on vacation. Everything went smooth, and it was nice knowing he was in good hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.
Julie is great! Our "Dallas" had never stayed with anyone other than her family. Julie made her feel very welcome and provided regular updates. Dallas will definitely stay with her again!
She is amazing! Our boy was behaving badly and she rolled with it, communicated with us and is just super caring in general. We highly recommend her- and hope she will allow us back!
Millie had such had great time! Julie was super communicative which we loved since this was Millie’s first stay away from home. Seems like Julie has some magic up her sleeves getting Millie to nap and cuddle and go to bed all on her own. Definitely will be back and highly recommend Julie and her awesome family!

Schedule
I retired from teaching and have all the time in the world to tend to your pet. I love to take dogs for rides in the car, to the dog park, to downtown Plymouth to socialize, or even to the Detroit Riverwalk for a stroll, but only if you are comfortable with that It all depends on the dog!

You really cannot go wrong if you choose to have me board your pet! I have a fenced-in yard, I live on a sweet, quiet street in Downtown Plymouth, plus I have a weekly poop pick-up service to keep the yard clean at all times. I also have a spare bedroom that can be devoted to your pet(s) should they need some space occasionally while staying with me (or for the whole time, which happened with a recent client who had 3 cats). In addition, I have a Great Dane-sized crate if your pet needs to be crated. I had a happy, polite, chill Great Dane who was 8 years old and loved every dog and person he has ever met. He passed from bone cancer on July 18, 2025. I also have a very social cat who loves every person/dog/cat she has encountered as well. She is spayed, vaccinated, and on flea treatment year round. I have a fantastic vet who is on-call 24/7. In addition, I belong to a dog park should your pup need some extra exercise/running time. Lastly, I have an 13-year-old son who LOVES animals as well. He is often eager to help me when we are boarding a pet, and he has such a sweet way with them! So in short, I have a happy, safe, loving home with the space to make your pup or cat relaxed while you are away.

A typical day
Backyard play and trips to the dog park! I have plenty of toys here and balls to chase. If you chose to have your pet board with me, I recommend you have your dog/cat on flee and tick prevention (this can be bought at any pet store, and even Costco!) because my cat is an indoor/outdoor cat.
