Pet care experience

Animal enthusiast looking to help

I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was 15. I have administered a variety of medications, including injecting insulin to a diabetic dog, pills, and liquid medications in syringes delivered orally. I volunteered at an animal shelter for years so have a lot of experience interacting with unfamiliar and timid dogs.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I have a small fenced yard and two friendly senior dogs. They are lazy girls who are spayed, with one weighing 55 lbs and other weighing 12 lbs . I also have two cats, who will have zero interest in interacting with any new animals in the house, and some pet rats who are caged won't be interacting. My cats will likely stay upstairs, which I close off from the downstairs living area when visiting pets are in the house. If a crate is provided I have no problem crating your dog. I am comfortable interacting with unfamiliar pets in their homes and taking unfamiliar dogs out on a leisurely walk. I always love a care guide to ensure I provide care that is consistent with what a pet would be getting if their people were around.

Julie was wonderful with Boba and we appreciate her so much for staying over the holidays even with the threat of power outages. She sent updates and adorable photos while we were away and I felt that I didn’t need to worry at all about him while we were in Virginia. Thank you again Julie!

Let me know what unique needs your pet has beforehand (unusual fears, dietary restrictions, medical care, ongoing training reinforcement, walk duration requirements, etc). Additionally, if your pet will be coming to my home, I need to know how they typically are around spayed female dogs, both small and med-large, and how they are around indoor cats.
