Doggy holidays in a comfy home from home
As a retired couple with time on our hands we'd like to open our home to your precious fur babies. After losing our precious Lab, Harvey, a couple of years ago we decided to adopt a 12 year old Patterdale named Ruby last May. Giving a loving home to a senior dog has been a joy. Ruby unfortunately passed November 2025 but we have wonderful memories and take comfort in the fact we gave her a safe, loving home in her later years. We live by the coast and also by a Loch which both have lovely walks. Our home is in a quiet area and we have a good sized garden which is south facing and a lovely place for a lazy doggy snooze.

This was the first time we boarded our dog and it took a long time to find a couple we felt comfortable with. Steve and Julie offered us a meet and greet session before Jess' overnight visit. This was very re-assuring and it definitely helped when we left Jess on our next visit. Steve and Julie are a lovely friendly and happy couple. They obviously have many years experience of looking after dogs (their own and boarders) and we could tell that they would welcome Jess into their home. We are already planning our holidays for 2027 based on our very positive experience of using Steve and Julie to look after Jess. We could tell that she was relaxed in their company when we went to collect her and I'm sure she would have been happy to spend more time with them. We cannot thank them enough for making this first time boarding go so smoothly.
We needed to add an extra day to our dogs stay while we were preparing for our daughters wedding and Julie & Steve were more than happy to help. They were so accommodating and it made one less thing for us to worry about. We are so grateful for the kindness and flexibility. Thank you xx
Julie & Steve took such wonderful care of our wee Mila while we were at our daughter’s wedding. We received a lovely update & photo which was reassuring and meant a lot to us. She settled really well and was clearly well looked after. We felt completely comfortable leaving Mila with them & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, Thank you both ❤️xx
Dolly was so excited to be going back to Julie and Steve, and I could see immediately how much she is loved there. It was wonderful to get so much feedback during her stay, and lots of happy photographs. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Julie and Steve again, they are my number one sitters.
Julie and Steve are lovely people who looked after our girl like their own. We will definitely use their services again.

Schedule
As my husband and I are retired we both have plenty of time to care for a visiting dog. Our dog Ruby, who recently passed, was walked 2 or 3 times a day and went most places with us.

We have a secure garden which is always available for playing, mooching or snoozing. Our routine would follow the owners routine as closely as possible.
A typical day
We like to walk around our local Loch and take some time to play at the beach. We have 2 large parks nearby which have lots to exolore. We also spend a lot of time playing in the garden.
