Availability
I work part-time in home health services, so my schedule during the week tends to vary. I am, however, shifting my focus to pet care and have multiple openings Monday-Friday for drop-ins and dog walks. I am more than willing to pet sit during the week, and my shifts would take me away from the house for 2-5 hours. I have full availability on weekends for drop-ins, dog walks, and pet sitting.

I believe that working with cats and dogs requires a mutual understanding and respect. In training my own dogs, I do not yell at or punish them for misbehavior; instead, I provide positive feedback to encourage good behavior. When walking a dog, I let it take its time and do not tug or rush it along, as a walk is for the dog's enjoyment. I like to build trust with an animal and love giving them all the attention they deserve (which is an infinite amount). Accidents happen, and when a pet makes a mess, there is no shame or guilt involved. I believe that any outburst or accident from an animal is a response to a need not met, and work to satisfy the need instead of punishing the behavior.

I like to know what commands the pet knows, its routine, and the type of behaviors it displays when it needs or wants something. I also like to know about any medical conditions and have all instructions written down. Additionally, let me know about their favorite toys and treats!
A typical day
A typical day includes, above all, lots of love and pats. It includes multiple long walks throughout the day where the dog is allowed to lead the journey and sniff to its heart's content. If you have grooming supplies, I love spending time grooming pets as it builds trust and helps to get in touch with a pet's physical health. If your dog loves to play, then play time is all the time. I always follow instructions as closely as possible, and align my routine with your animal to promote a low-stress stay.

Hello, here I will introduce myself by my preferred name, Fern! I graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Maine and am passionate about all things animals. I am comfortable with all shapes and sizes of pets, and grew up with both a 10-pound chihuahua and a 150-pound Anatolian shepherd. Pet care is something I take great pride and joy in, and I love spending hours walking, grooming, and playing with my clients' pets. I am experienced in administering oral medication, caring for multiple animals at a time, and working with reactive pets. I currently work part-time, but I always have weekends off and part of the week free for pet care services. If you think that I might be a good fit for your furry friend, I would love to connect!

Julianna was a lifesaver for us when we were out of state for 7days. She was wonderful with Bailey and Bentley as they have never been left with anyone previously. The pups absolutely loved Julianna and we appreciate the care and love that she gave them which made us less anxious to leave them. Highly recommend Julianna and we will most definitely be using her services again! It was nice to come home to happy dogs and a clean house as she left everything tidy.
Fern did an amazing job with our 2 dogs while we were away for a long trip. She updated us including photos everyday. Would highly recommend and we are likely to ask for her help again for future trips.
