I am currently majoring in Animal Science BioTechnology on a Pre-Vet track at UMass Amherst where I am working toward Veterinary School for a career alongside animals of all kinds. Working with and learning about animals has been my passion since I was little! I recently completed a month-long, full-time internship at an Animal Hospital, working alongside experienced veterinarians. During this time, I gained experience with a variety of dogs and cats, learning how to prepare and administer medications and vaccines, support and care for reactive or anxious pets, and handling emergent cases. I also got the chance to observe various procedures while learning important skills and techniques. This incredible opportunity deepened my passion for helping animals and expanded my skills in providing compassionate care. I also worked at an animal shelter in my hometown for two years, where I had experience working with dogs and cats. I helped in keeping their areas clean, playing with them, feeding, teaching, etc. I have experience with animals with behavioral problems and have worked closely with several rescued pets and helped them adapt to a home environment. I have also taken classes on pet care and how to understand animal behavior. Additionally, I fostered three small kittens last year with fleas and other medical problems and cared for them for over a month. I grew up with several dogs in the family, and two of my own, as well as having two cats that current live with me. Additionally, I’ve owned/have experience caring for guinea pigs, fish, and other small animals. I am confident that I can provide outstanding care to all animals, and I am quick to learn any additional needs for young and/or senior dogs and cats. I will go above and beyond for any animal in my care.

Safety, trust & environment
I grew up raising and taking care of dogs. I have experience with feeding, alternative diets, administering medication, bathing and cleaning, some training, and am more than happy to learn anything else needed. I would take my dogs out for walks daily as well as practice tricks and training with them. Similarly, my cats are extremely spoiled, I spend hours daily playing with them and in the warmer weather, taking them on nature walks. I love spending time with animals and I will strictly follow any instructions provided for caring for your animal and care for them as if they were my own.

Juliana is fantastic, with both cats and nervous pet parents! After a great experience a few months ago, we rebooked her to hang out with Osgood while we were away for a long weekend. Osgood normally hides under the bed when strangers are around, but this time she recognized Juliana and popped right out to say hi and get lots of snuggles (and food, of course). Juliana writes amazing, detailed summaries of what they got up to each day, and clearly she and Oz have become excellent friends. We adore her as a person, and she gives us such peace of mind to know that the kitty is happy and well loved while we're away.

Schedule
I am currently a full-time student at UMass Amherst, but I have a lot of free time. My current class schedule is during the mornings, but I have a lot of flexibility and am more than happy to try to accommodate requested times. This semester specifically I have a lot of extra free time. SUMMER: I will be away during summer break visiting family from May 20-September 1. Starting Sep 1, I will be accepting new bookings. Thank you! Being a student, I am typically away visiting family or working on my Veterinary studies during Winter Break and Summer break. Otherwise, I am almost always available :)
