# Our Experience with This Dog Sitter I’m sharing our experience so other pet owners can make informed decisions. While our dog was physically safe, there were serious concerns about her condition. ## Our Dog’s Condition Throughout the stay, the sitter sent photos of our dog from behind or sleeping, rarely showing her face. After we requested an extension and had an uncomfortable payment exchange (detailed below), she sent a face photo for the first time. Our dog appeared visibly sad and distressed. We cancelled the extension and picked her up at the end of the original booking. At pickup, our dog was walking unsteadily, extremely quiet, and lethargic - completely out of character. We contacted our veterinarian immediately. Based on the symptoms, the vet said her behavior was consistent with sedation and advised monitoring for 24 hours, bringing her in if no improvement. Our dog remained unusually quiet and lethargic for two days before returning to normal. We don’t know what happened during her stay, but her condition was alarming enough to require veterinary consultation. ## Payment Issues Midway through the booking, we requested a two-day extension. The sitter responded asking for poop bags and explicitly stated: “send me the tip along with the poop bags money.” She was requesting a tip before service was completed and before the extension had even begun. We replied that tips are given at end of stay and sent the poop bags via food delivery. After this, she began describing care complications that felt like justification for her tip request rather than genuine concern. ## Communication Problems The sitter primarily sent photos during sleep times or from angles that didn’t show our dog’s face or demeanor, which increased our anxiety rather than providing reassurance. When we picked up early, she seemed annoyed and made arrangements unnecessarily difficult. ## Conclusion We cannot recommend this sitter. Our dog’s condition required veterinary consultation, and the sitter’s unprofessional behavior around payment made us uncomfortable. We would not use her services again.

# Our Experience with This Dog Sitter I’m sharing our experience so other pet owners can make an informed decision. While our dog was physically safe, there were serious concerns about her condition that we feel obligated to report. ## Primary Concern: Our Dog’s Condition **During The Stay** Throughout the booking, the sitter consistently sent photos of our dog from behind or while sleeping, rarely showing her face. After we requested the extension and had the uncomfortable exchange about payment, she sent us a photo showing our dog’s face for the first time. In this photo, our dog appeared visibly sad and distressed. Based on this concerning image and our growing unease with the sitter’s behavior, we decided to cancel the extension and pick up our dog at the end of the original booking period instead of the extended dates. **At Pickup** When we arrived to pick up our dog, we immediately noticed concerning behavior: - She was walking unsteadily and seemed disoriented - She was extremely quiet and unresponsive, completely out of character for her - Her demeanor was lethargic and subdued in a way we had never seen **Veterinary Consultation** We were concerned enough that we contacted our veterinarian immediately. Based on the symptoms we described, the vet indicated that our dog’s behavior was consistent with sedation and advised us to monitor her closely for 24 hours and bring her in if she didn’t improve. **Recovery** Our dog remained unusually quiet and lethargic for two days after pickup. By the third day, she returned to her normal self. While we’re relieved she recovered, we still don’t know what happened during her stay to cause this condition. ## Additional Concerns **Unprofessional Communication About Payment** Midway through the original booking, we requested to extend our stay by two additional days. Shortly after this request, the sitter sent us a message stating she needed poop bags and explicitly told us to “send me the tip along with the poop bags money.” This made us extremely uncomfortable - she was directly requesting a tip before the service was even completed, and before the extension we’d just requested had even begun. We responded that tips would be provided at the end of the stay, as is customary, and arranged for a food delivery that included the poop bags she requested. Following this exchange, she began describing potential complications with our dog’s care, which felt more like justification for the tip she’d already requested rather than genuine concern. **Poor Communication During Stay** Rather than sending reassuring updates, we primarily received photos of our dog sleeping or from angles that didn’t show her face or demeanor. For pet parents who are already anxious about leaving their dog, this type of communication increases stress rather than providing peace of mind. **Difficult Pickup** When we decided to pick up our dog earlier than planned due to our concerns, the sitter seemed annoyed and made the arrangement unnecessarily complicated. ## Our Conclusion We cannot recommend this sitter. The condition of our dog at pickup was alarming enough that we sought veterinary guidance. While our dog recovered after several days, we would not feel comfortable using this sitter again or recommending her services to others. Our dog’s safety and wellbeing are our top priority, and based on this experience, we cannot in good conscience suggest others use this sitter’s services.
